Mushu’s Congee is a five-star recipe in Disney Dreamlight Valley inspired by the bowl of porridge made by Mushu the dragon from the 1998 animated film Mulan. While many fans have mixed feelings about the latest live-action entry to the renowned franchise, few can argue that the beloved Mulan cartoon is filled with timeless iconic moments, such as when Mushu prepares breakfast for Mulan before her combat training. In the scene, Mushu calls his comically smiling dish “porridge.” However, Disney Dreamlight Valley accurately labels this meal as “Congee, ” a rice porridge common in many East Asian countries.

As a five-star recipe, Mushu’s Congee requires five ingredients in Disney Dreamlight Valley: Rice, Eggs, Ginger, Garlic, and Mushroom. Most of these cooking resources come from separate biomes, making the task of gathering them all quite intimidating for some. Moreover, one ingredient can only be obtained from the Forgotten Lands, the most costly biome to unlock in the Valley.

First, to get Rice for the Mushu’s Congee recipe in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must gain access to the Glade of Trust. The glade costs 5,000 Dreamlight to unlock, and Rice Seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s Stall after it has been repaired for 2,000 Star Coins. Next, Eggs are an ingredient exclusive to Chez Remy’s pantry, a shop that becomes accessible once players have brought Remy back from the Ratatouille realm and repaired his restaurant. The third ingredient is Mushrooms, another resource obtained from the Glade of Trust. Small white-capped shrooms can be found across the muddy forest floor of the glade. After players upgrade their Watering Can to a certain level, they can clear away the corrupt fungi in the biome to get Mushrooms.

Garlic is an Herb that can be foraged from the Forest of Valor, the biome north of Dazzle Beach that can be unlocked for 3,000 Dreamlight. The bulbs of Garlic are not visible but can be gathered via their tall leafy stems sticking up from the grass. The fifth and final ingredient of Mushu’s Congee in Disney Dreamlight Valley is Ginger, a Spice resource located in the Forgotten Lands. The Forgotten Lands requires a hefty investment of 15,000 Dreamlight, but once players have gained access to the biome, they will be able to collect the last resource for cooking Mushu’s Congee.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
