If you’ve played the Fallout series, you might remember traits. These give you an edge in certain things but come with a catch. This is a mechanic that also shows up in Bethesda’s latest title. While they are optional, some can be great for building a character or making your background richer. However, some might be a bit annoying after a while, and you might be wondering how to remove traits in Starfield. If that’s the case, here we’ll tell you how you can get rid of them so they don’t bother you anymore.

Can You Remove Traits in Starfield? Answered

First and foremost, yes, you can remove traits in Starfield. This is fantastic, as some players might find some traits more negative than positive in some ways. Take the Kid Stuff trait. You get parents who send you gifts at times, but you’ll need to give them 2% of your total credits every week. While it might not be many at first, the moment you get more credits, giving them to your parents will hurt. While you can get rid of the trait naturally by talking to them, others aren’t that easy. For that, you must head to a doctor and pay 10,000 to remove unwanted traits.

Even if some traits in Starfield are fun, knowing how to remove them is important. Veteran players or those who want to do a hard playthrough might want to keep them. Some fun ones give you many helpful things, but we always recommend checking the drawbacks before choosing. However, nothing is permanent in the game, and traits are completely optional. If you picked one during character creation and regret it after a few hours, find your nearest doctor to get rid of it. Make sure to have enough credits, though; if not, you won’t be able to get this service.

Starfield is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
