Enshrouded is designed to be played with your friends. Exploring Embervale with others makes it a little easier to stay alive among the world’s natural landscape and the monsters that inhabit it. You’re able to set up a private server for yourself or even a public server with up to 16 friends. We broke down how to set up a server in Enshrouded for the next time you want to jump in with your friends.

To join your own server on a different PC, follow these instructions:

  1. Install the Enshrouded Dedicated Server in Steam’s Tools section of your Library.
  2. In Steam, go to the Enshrouded Dedicated Server Tool’s properties and access the files.
  3. Open the tool and then close it out.
  4. Once closed, use Notepad to open the new enshrouded_server.json file in the tool’s files.
  5. Here, you can adjust the server’s name and other attributes.
  6. Once you’re done, you can close the file and open the Dedicated Server tool again.

You can also rent a server via a third party like GPortal. This does cost money, but you can have a number of slots for different servers.
