Palworld has a huge map full of difficult terrain, so anything that makes navigating it is a good thing. In a game with gliders, mounts, and even a grappling hook, there’s one movement mechanic that some players might not know about: sliding. By building up momentum, you can send your character sliding down slopes, which can be useful for combat as well as traversal. This mechanic might not be as crucial as it is in Apex Legends, but it can come in handy as you work on filling out your Paldeck. Here’s how to slide in Palworld.
Palworld Sliding Guide
If you want to know how to slide in Palworld, there’s good news: the actual mechanics are easy. You can perform this maneuver pretty much any time the terrain allows it. You don’t need a special perk or skill to unlock it first. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Move in the direction you want to slide
- Hold “Shift” / “LS” to start sprinting
- Press “C” / “LS”
When you press “C” / “LS,” your character will start sliding, but the slide may end abruptly if the surface you’re on is too flat. Understanding momentum is a big part of knowing how to slide in Palworld. The bigger the slope, the more speed you’ll build up and the longer you’ll slide for. Trying to slide when the terrain is too flat will end with you stopping in an awkward crouch. It’s not a big deal in general, other than how silly it looks, but it can be bad news in combat.

Palworld Starter GuideThere are two main reasons to slide in Palworld. The first is because it’s a fast, no hassel way to descend slopes without having to summon and mount a Pal. It can also just be fun to see the world blur by, which never hurts. The second reason to slide is becaues this technique makes you much harder to hit. Its a pretty niche technique that doesn’t come into play most of the time, but it’s a good trick to have in your back pocket in battle.
