This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

As you explore abandoned industrial buildings in Lethal Company, you’ll face off against many scary enemies, but none are more annoying than Thumper. As a frightening mutant with a lizard head but a human torso, this monster can be a deadly challenge for new players. You won’t be able to pass by without attracting Thumper’s attention, and its terrible speed and deadly attacks will give you no chance of escape. However, Thumpers are not as invulnerable as they seem at first glance.

Before looking for a strategy to counter Thumpers, it’s worth understanding the strengths and weaknesses of these creatures. As we said earlier, the main advantages of this monster are its colossal speed and enormous melee damage. If you try to escape from it along a straight corridor, you can consider yourself dead. But you can survive if there is even a slight turn or doorway in the wall along the way.

Despite its high straight-line speed, Thumper is one of the most unmaneuverable enemies in Lethal Company. It will not be able to change direction until it comes to a complete stop. In addition, walking on two large legs, Thumpers make a loud thumping sound that can be heard long before it gets close to you. Based on the above, here is the best strategy for surviving an encounter with Thumpers in Lethal Company:

  • Always play on loud volume settings and listen closely.
  • When you hear loud knocks or slapping of palms on the floor, retreat to any fork, spiral staircase, sharp turn, etc.
  • Wait for Thumper to approach you, and quickly move to the side and let him run past you. After that, run or fight with it.
  • Also, you can climb higher to jump over or get around Thumper when it tries to get to you.

It’s worth noting that Thumpers are not very fast in limited space. You can escape by luring it into some room or stairwells. But this also means that the enemy will not run past you at high speed, and any mistake you make will lead to your death. So, always carry a Teleporter with you just in case.

How To Kill Thumpers in Lethal Company

If you’re playing with a large group of friends and want to kill Thumper, here’s how to do it:

  • Follow the steps to retreat, but instead of running, follow the enemy as it runs past you.
  • Standing behind it, use a Shovel or any other weapon to kill the monster.
  • It will probably take you about six hits to kill it. So attack with your friends or retreat and finish it when it strikes again.
  • Thumpers aren’t particularly dangerous when their back is to you, and you can get in a few hits before it can hit back.

That’s all you need to know about Thumpers in Lethal Company. But let’s summarize:

  1. These monsters are fast and deal massive damage in close combat.

  2. They are not very maneuverable and will run past if you quickly move to the side.

  3. 5-6 hits with a Shovel are enough to kill this enemy.
