The Ancients have returned in Path of Exile 2 with the latest 0.5.0 update, introducing a bunch of new items, bugs that crash your game, and, of course, endgame quests. Completing The Runeseeker quest unlocks the Runeforging system with a new NPC called Farrow, but if you don’t see him around in Path of Exile 2, then here’s how to find him.

Path of Exile 2 - No Nonsense Runeseeker Quest Guide

Unlock The Runeseeker Quest in Path of Exile 2

The Return of the Ancients update in Path of Exile 2 adds rune-related quests to the game. Now, each Act has its own set of challenges, and The Runeseeker unlocks in the last part. In other words, if you skip the Rune challenges, Farrow, the new NPC, doesn’t give you The Runeseeker quest, and you need to go back and finish whatever’s missing from Acts 1 to 3.

Also, if the Rune quests are not available in your game, then you still need to progress through the main Campaign to unlock this set of challenges. There’s nothing to activate manually or a place to visit to start them.

What If The Runeseeker Quest is locked?

While the steps are self-explanatory to complete The Runeseeker quest in Path of Exile 2, there are a couple of bugs and issues that lock the player out of it. For example, if you die during the expedition, the game might just keep you out of the loop by giving no more questline-related clues. In that case, try these methods to fix:

  • Talk about every single map piece with Makoru. This fixes your game if you can’t find the last piece of the map but it’s already checked.
  • Play with your friend. If you’re stuck in the expedition for dying, you can join a friend who hasn’t finished this quest yet and complete it together. The game is bugged, so be careful not to die here unless you both end up stuck!
  • Resetting the zone is also another way to break the expedition stuck curse in Path of Exile 2 The Runeseeker quest, but it doesn’t always work. All you have to do is open the map, press Ctrl + Right Click on Plunder’s Point, and re-enter.

This is a rare issue that should get fixed soon, but until then, you can try these methods to fix your game.
