A group of people in Illinois who viewers believed to be liberals were mocked online after they held a march honoring people who had died in connection with ICE operations.

ICE operations in recent years have been met with frequent protests across the United States, with demonstrators criticizing the agency’s immigration enforcement tactics, detention practices, and workplace raids. Several immigration enforcement incidents have also resulted in fatalities, including the deaths of some immigrants during or following encounters with ICE.

A small number of people participating in protests or confrontations related to immigration enforcement have also been killed in separate incidents. These events have intensified the national debate over immigration policy, with supporters arguing that ICE is enforcing federal law and critics calling for greater accountability and reforms.

A video that went viral online showed a silent march in Naperville, Illinois, where participants honored immigrants and protesters who died in connection with ICE operations and related incidents. The participants carried photos of those being remembered, along with signs condemning ICE. The march took place in silence as bystanders stopped to watch and film the demonstration.

Some of the photos carried by participants featured Johan Sebastián Guerrero and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. The two are immigrants whose deaths have been linked to ICE agents. Others showed Alex Jeffrey Pretti and Renée Nicole Good, who were anti-ICE protesters killed during incidents involving immigration enforcement. Each photo had the words “Rest in Peace” written across the top as participants honored those they were remembering.

Along with the photos, participants also carried signs expressing opposition to ICE. One sign read, “I wish ICE stood for compassion & empathy.” Another included an expletive directed at ICE alongside the message, “Families belong together.” The crowd appeared to consist of dozens of people, with the line of marchers continuing beyond what was visible in the video. While many people who oppose ICE praised the demonstration, others who support the agency criticized and mocked the participants online.

Viewers Mock Illinois Liberals Over Anti-ICE March

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers mocked the Illinois group that participated in the anti-ICE march. Some argued that the demonstrators should have been supporting ICE agents instead. “The American citizen life doesn’t matter to them, meaning their own life’s don’t matter enough to them either. The murderous illegal immigrants life is more important than the dead victims life. The fools that they are,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “The repulsive left NEVER EVER protest or support VICTIMS and THEIR FAMILIES of illegal alien CRIMINALS. They ALWAYS support the criminals.”

Several other viewers also criticized the march and its purpose. “A bunch of old white liberal idiots.. They are one of the main reasons for our country’s current state. A bunch of walking idiodic dinosaurs, suicidal empathetic morons,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “They cannot name one single victim of these illegal alien murderers but they protest against America and ICE following the same laws Obama used to deport 3 million.”

The video sparked a conversation about the deep divide in the United States over ICE and immigration enforcement. It also led to discussions about whether ICE should continue carrying out deportation operations. Supporters argue it is enforcing federal immigration law, while critics contend that the agency’s practices should be reformed or limited.
