An Illinois woman went viral after showing off a $24 slice of carrot cake that initially left her questioning the price tag until the dessert finally arrived and she opened the box.
The woman explained that she had been ordering food through DoorDash from Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse in Chicago when the app suggested adding a slice of carrot cake to her order at checkout.
At first, the woman was shocked by the price of the carrot cake slice since it cost $24. Despite that, she decided to treat herself and add it to her DoorDash order. When the order arrived, it came in two bags, and she immediately noticed that one of them felt unusually heavy. After opening it, she realized why the slice of cake had been so expensive.
While filming the order, the woman showed the closed box containing the carrot cake slice. When she opened it, she realized it was far from a normal slice. Instead, it appeared to be nearly a quarter of an entire carrot cake. “This is for a family of 9,” she said in disbelief. The massive portion size shocked both her and many viewers online. Despite that, she joked that she still planned to finish it, saying she had plans with the cake for the “foreseeable future.”
