Two Iowa women were accused of refusing to pay after receiving services at a nail salon before yelling at another customer who began recording the incident.

An initial video captured the moments before the two women confronted the customer. In the footage, one of the women can be seen arguing with nail salon employees after receiving service. “What the [expletive] is wrong with you?” she said. She then told the employees that she was not going to pay the requested $75, claiming that her paycheck was only $35.

“I’m not playing with your [expletive],” the woman told the employees. At that point, the customer spoke up while recording the incident, saying, “You would like disorderly conduct and assault?” The woman then turned her attention to the customer and began yelling at her for filming. In response, the customer said, “Girl, you broke. You can’t even afford what you sat in the chair for.”

The woman continued yelling at the customer and repeatedly demanded that she stop recording. She then appeared to threaten her, saying, “I’m gonna smack you.” The argument continued as the woman repeatedly told the customer to “mind your business.” The customer responded that she was recording the incident for the police.

The customer later posted a second video showing the other woman approaching her and also yelling at her for recording the incident. “Mind your business,” the woman repeatedly said. She then threatened to slap the customer’s phone out of her hand. Moments later, she walked back to her companion and told her to pay the salon.

Eventually, the two women began leaving the salon. The customer followed them while continuing to record. When one of the women turned around and realized she was still being filmed, she rushed toward the customer in what appeared to be an attempt to confront or attack her. Her companion tried to hold her back, saying, “Don’t get no charge.” Despite that, the woman continued toward the customer. The customer was able to lock the door before the two women reached her.

At the end of the video, the customer said that police officers were outside the salon. However, it is unclear whether they became involved in the incident. The customer later shared another update, claiming that one of the two women called the salon and threatened to file a lawsuit because she had recorded them. As of now, it is unclear whether the situation escalated any further.

Viewers Criticize Iowa Women Over Behavior at Nail Salon

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the two Iowa women over their behavior at the nail salon. Several argued that they should not have confronted the customer who was recording the incident. “They look dumb [expletive],” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Way to stand up to these thugs. We are with you.”

A smaller number of viewers defended the two women and questioned the customer’s actions. “Why are you antagonizing them?!” one person asked. Another commenter replied, “She wasn’t. She was recording them bc they didn’t want to pay.” Someone else added, “Because they were refusing to pay for service and why [expletive] are they at the salon if they can’t pay for nails? I’d record too to put ‘em on blast for being broke [expletive] cuz what???? Being loud and ghetto for what lmfao.”

The video sparked a conversation about incidents in which customers allegedly refuse to pay after receiving services at nail salons and other businesses. It also led to debate over whether bystanders should record these situations to help document what happened and potentially assist authorities, or avoid getting involved altogether.
