A California-based woman is calling on other white women to speak out after far-right activist Laura Loomer’s racist attacks against Florida Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Angie Nixon drew widespread condemnation across the country.

TikTok creator @crowdsourcecarrie — aka Carrie — joined the growing criticism of Loomer after the political activist targeted Nixon and several other prominent Black women in a series of social media posts. Rather than focusing solely on Loomer, however, Carrie called on other white women to speak up when Black women face racist attacks.

There IS NOT “leadership”, Laura, shame on YOU! White women, it’s long past time for you to step up to the plate. Do better! #angienixon #florida #lauraloomer #racism

In the video, Carrie is sitting in a vehicle wearing pink sunglasses as she explains, “I’m really upset. I just finished watching Don Lemon’s live TikTok, one that he has every morning. And I am so upset.”

She then explains what prompted her reaction. “On today’s show was a woman named Angie Nixon. She is an African-American woman who is running for office in the state of Florida. And this weekend, she was racially attacked on Twitter by the one and only Laura Loomer.” As Carrie mentions Loomer, an image of her sitting alongside President Donald Trump appears on-screen.

Carrie becomes more emotional as she discusses Nixon’s appearance. “And as brilliant and strong and talented and educated — all the things that Angie Nixon is — she was fighting back tears today, and it broke my heart.”

She then turns her attention directly to other white women: “As white women, we need to speak up. We cannot allow this hatred and this racism to represent who we are.”

Carrie acknowledges that speaking out can be uncomfortable, particularly for people who dislike confrontation, before arguing that it doesn’t need to involve an argument. “Speaking up does not mean you have to get into a screaming match or that you have to be the loudest person in the room. Speaking up is just saying, ‘Hey, that’s not okay.’”

Carrie went on to argue that speaking out can start with small, everyday actions, such as refusing to laugh at a racist joke or challenging inappropriate comments among friends and family. She said that when white women remain silent, they risk leaving people of color to confront racism alone, adding that it is “long past time we do our part.”

Her message ended on an encouraging note, as she told viewers they did not have to approach these conversations perfectly. “Lead with your heart. Your heart is in the right place. We need to do better.”

Carrie is far from the only person to condemn Loomer’s remarks. The controversy has drawn criticism from lawmakers and civil rights figures across the country, including Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, who accused Loomer of “peddling racism,” while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries described her as a “stone-cold racist.”

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump also spoke out, saying Black women should not have to endure such rhetoric for taking on leadership roles. Notably, former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene also condemned Loomer’s comments despite making clear that she does not support Nixon politically.

Social Media Reactions

Carrie’s message resonated with many viewers, including Black women who said they understood the exhaustion she described. One commenter wrote, “It made me cry because as a blk woman I am tired 😪 the constant hate, the constant smear campaigns on our character, looks, and negative tropes is overwhelming.” The commenter went on to praise Nixon’s willingness to speak out against what she viewed as corruption, adding that she “deserves to be backed by all of us.”

Others focused specifically on Carrie’s call for white women to challenge racism within their own communities. “I pray that this message gets through. YT women could make a huge change if it wasn’t accepted in their communities 💔,” one viewer wrote.

Another commenter said she was already trying to do exactly that, writing, “I’m so [expletive] done with racists! I’m not afraid of confrontation, I follow many black creators and love them. I stand up when I can.”

Nixon also received support from viewers familiar with her political career. One person pointed out that she already represents part of Jacksonville in the Florida House before declaring their support for her Senate campaign, while another simply wrote, “Fight for Angie [Nixon]!!!! She truly is amazing.”

While the controversy began with Loomer’s remarks about Nixon, Carrie’s response has helped turn the conversation toward a much broader issue. Her message was ultimately a simple one: challenging racism does not always require a grand gesture or confrontation. Sometimes, she argued, change can begin with refusing to stay silent and simply saying, “Hey, that’s not okay.”
