Masters of the Universe: Revelation
This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information.

Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation has cast its most prominent star yet: Mark Hamill.

Mark Hamill will be voicing Skeletor, the infamous He-Man villain. He will be joining a star-studded cast in the revival of Masters of the Universe, the 80’s adventure cartoon. The show centers around one of TV’s buffest heroes, He-Man and his pals Teela and Orko. Often, the team defeats Skeletor, thwarting his evil plans.

Mark Hamill has already proved his mettle when it comes to voice acting. He has made quite a name for himself playing Joker on a myriad of Batman TV shows and the Batman Arkham video game series. He also played the frightening and powerful Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender. So Hamill is a master at playing the villain, making him the perfect Skeletor for Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

The Netflix revival of the cartoon has attracted a lot of talent. For instance, Kevin Smith, director of the cult classic Clerks and all-around nerd, is acting as showrunner and producer for the show.  Chris Wood will play Prince Adam and He-Man. Lena Headey of Game of Thrones be Evil-Lyn, and Sarah Michelle Gellar will play Teela. I could go on and on, naming the stellar cast of Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation. But, instead, just check out the full cast list here!

Kevin Smith is blown away by the talent Masters of the Universe: Revelation has attracted saying:

“I cannot believe the lineup of talent I get to play with! The incredible, star-studded cast that Mattel’s Rob David and Netflix’s Ted Biaselli assembled for our Masters of the Universe series will let any lifelong He-Man fan know we’re treating this cartoon seriously and honoring the legendary world of Eternia with A-list talent! Chris, Sarah, Mark, Lena, and the other amazing actors and actresses have given performances so powerful and real in a show that features a talking giant green tiger! With these fantastic performers behind our characters, it’ll be crazy easy to immerse yourself in the swords and sorcery of our epic sci-fi soap opera!”

Netflix is going all-in on He-Man material. For example, the streaming company is currently in talks to Sony’s live-action Masters of the Universe reboot. Netflix is becoming a juggernaut in entertainment, despite only winning two Oscars with 24 nominations. But with the number of properties the company is acquiring, Netflix is one of the best streaming services ever.
