The disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, has taken a troubling turn as new reporting raises questions about those closest to her. Investigators are racing against time amid disturbing evidence, alleged ransom demands, and growing scrutiny around family members who were among the last to see her alive.

Investigative Report Points to Troubling Twist in Nancy Guthrie Case

According to Ashleigh Banfield, there is “a stunning twist in the kidnapping of ‘TODAY’ anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy.” The veteran journalist reported that “Tommaso Cioni has been identified by police as a possible suspect in the case,” citing a trusted law enforcement source.

Tomasso Cioni, married to Savannah’s sister Annie Guthrie, was among the last people connected to Nancy before she vanished. Banfield also reported that investigators have towed Annie’s car, which has “some connection” to the 50-year-old, and that all the cameras at Nancy’s Tucson home were smashed.

The case intensified after NewsNation footage showed a trail of blood leading to Nancy’s front steps, with the Los Angeles Times later confirming the blood belonged to her. TMZ also received an alleged ransom note demanding payment for Nancy’s release, prompting both the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department to investigate its authenticity.

Contrary to Banfield’s claim, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Wednesday that no suspects have been identified in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. “We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case,” the department said, adding that detectives are speaking with anyone connected to her and awaiting further forensic results.

Federal Agents Zero In as New Evidence Comes to Light

The Daily Mail reports that Annie Guthrie and her husband, Cioni, appeared visibly shaken when they were photographed leaving their Tucson home, covering their faces as FBI agents continued their investigation. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed they were the last people to see Nancy alive before she vanished.

Nancy disappeared sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning after a forced entry at her $1 million home. Blood drops were later found on her doorstep, while her doorbell camera was missing.

Investigators also revealed that her pacemaker stopped transmitting data around 2 a.m. Sunday, and her Apple Watch was later found inside the house.

Federal agents, local authorities, and even the White House have offered assistance as the search intensifies. A reward has been issued, but Sheriff Nanos admitted the window to find Nancy unharmed may be narrowing as investigators work urgently to bring her home.
