A New York woman attempted to share a disposable grill with some firefighters for Father’s Day. However, when she attempted to light it up right in front of the fire station, some of them threatened to call the fire marshal. She was even told that the grill “could be a bomb.”

The woman in question is Aiyanna, who shared the brief interaction on TikTok. She is a very popular content creator who often vlogs interactions with strangers, similar to the one involving the firefighters. In just over a day, the clip went viral, garnering 816,700 views, 122,200 likes, and more than 300 comments.

Aiyanna approached the FDNY 303 & Ladder 126 fire station, located in Jamaica, New York. After ringing the bell, she was met by two young firefighters. There, she explained that she had brought a disposable grill to share with them for Father’s Day. According to her, she brought it to the fire station because she might “burn her house down” otherwise.

Willing to share sausages with the firefighters, the woman placed the grill on the street, right in front of the fire station. Then, she grabbed a match and lit it, but was met with immediate apprehension, as the firefighters told her not to.

“It’s not gonna make an open flame, I promise,” Aiyanna said. One firefighter responded, “Now go back to your house and do that in the backyard.”

A ‘Bomb’

Other firefighters joined the grill situation. Just like the previous ones, they were not willing to partake in the attempted sausage barbecue. One of them said that starting a fire in front of a fire station was not a “good look,” while another pointed out other potential risks, as unlikely as they may be.

“We don’t even know, honestly, who you are, what this is,” the firefighter said. “This could be a bomb. A little suspicious to me. Might have to call the fire marshal over here.”

Aiyanna was eventually told to leave before they called a fire marshal on her. Still, that wouldn’t dissuade her from actually lighting the disposable grill on the street. As the flame started to grow, she immediately said that it didn’t seem safe. Then, she attempted to cook the sausages, but they kept rolling off. She ended up with dirty, burned sausages and had to pour water over the grill.

“This is a waste. This is a waste of sausages, this is a waste of everything,” the woman said before grabbing the grill and taking off.

The Internet Weighs In

The video sparked multiple responses online, with some criticizing the firefighters’ energy. One said, “They did not pass the vibe check.” Another one asked, “Wouldn’t a fire station be like the safest place to do this?“

Other viewers, fully aware of her content, were shocked that she had been turned down. One commented, “This is the first time I ever heard somebody tell her no.” Another one wrote, “First time you were ever told no. This is history.“
