Travis Kelce can’t catch a break from criticism as NFL fans tear apart claims of his alleged illness. The new wave of unflattering comments about the Kansas City Chiefs star began after the team’s general manager’s latest interview. A sneak peek at an upcoming episode of the NFL podcast The Insiders captured the shocking revelation.
During his appearance, Brett Veach stressed that he wasn’t “making excuses” for why the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl. Instead, he wanted to share why Kelce wasn’t on his A-game during the February 9 match. According to the team’s general manager, the athlete was “battling a pretty big illness” before the New Orleans event.
Despite sharing this detail about Kelce, Veach reiterated that it did not excuse the Chiefs’ loss. He argued that Kelce’s illness didn’t make a significant difference in the games, as the Philadelphia Eagles played well. “We didn’t have the end to our season that we hoped for,” the GM added, per PEOPLE.
Fans Slam Travis Kelce’s Illness Claim as an ‘Excuse’

Veach’s revelation about Kelce’s illness didn’t sit right with several fans who called BS on his story. “Let it go Kansas City .. you lost, Eagles won,” someone penned on X. Another implied the Chiefs always had “an excuse” for their shortcomings, either injury or sickness. The displeased individual argued:
“If they were in that bad of shape, maybe you should have left them on the bench. 2nd string could have played better.”
A third echoed similar sentiments, alleging the GM’s claims were false. They declared Kelce wasn’t sick, slamming him as “washed up and out of shape.” The criticisms continued with a fan claiming the Chiefs should never have made it to the Super Bowl. A fellow critic agreed, noting if the team had won, Kelce’s illness wouldn’t make headlines. “Stop making excuses Y the Chiefs did not win the SB SMH,” an X user added. The claims of Kelce’s illness come at the heels of his girlfriend’s team allegedly pushing for distance between them.
Taylor Swift’s Team No Longer Fans of Her Relationship With Travis Kelce

Although Kelce garnered hundreds of new fans thanks to his romance with Taylor Swift, things have allegedly changed. We recently covered the drama, reporting sources’ claims about the singer’s team being against their closeness. According to the report, Swift’s inner circle pushed her to split from Kelce.
They reportedly believed Kelce was harming the entertainer’s image, a concern that skyrocketed thanks to the Super Bowl. In case you missed it, Swift attended the games to support her beau but didn’t receive a warm welcome. When she appeared on the jumbotron, the Bad Blood hitmaker was met with boos instead of cheers.
“Taylor has been left devastated by the boos. It was a really shocking moment. She sees herself as a good person who strives to make the best decisions, so to receive a public bashing was quite traumatizing,” an insider shared. Given the public’s adverse reaction, Swift’s team wants to distance herself from Kelce, at least regarding work.
Will Travis Kelce’s illness claim be another reason for Taylor Swift’s team to push for distance?
