It may not seem like it, but one of the saddest things a community can witness is the slow death of a mall. After all, many of us have memories about these places, so seeing them wither away is never easy. Yet, there are some cases when people try to keep them alive, even if it means accidentally turning them into something entirely different. We’re of course referring to the Willow Bend Mall in Plano, Texas, which, despite its imminent closure, people have refused to let go of it, turning it into an indoor dog park, at least for the time being.

Someone shared the heartwarming yet nostalgic pictures of how the Willow Bend Mall in Plano, Texas, looks nowadays, and it seems that people have turned it into an indoor dog park. As you know, this once-blooming mall has become a ghost town recently, with many claiming it will close down this month. However, instead of letting the mall go into oblivion on its own, people have decided to give it life, even if it means doing so with their pets.

As you can see in the above pictures, there are a couple of people visiting the mall nowadays and bringing their dogs with them. The one who took the pictures, and many other Redditors, claim that this mall has now become an indoor dog park, which is quite wholesome despite the mall’s condition.

Even with the contrasting pictures, many people can’t help but feel sad and nostalgic about the place, especially since many knew it back when it was a proper mall, and not a ghost town.

“Kind of a sad, nostalgic emotion I get seeing this. Interesting how much times have changed.” – DoesntEnjoySoup via Reddit.

“It’s eerily beautiful in its current state – like a perfectly preserved ruin.” – XtraBitters via Reddit.

Also, many people are still wondering about what will happen with the mall. There’s been a lot of talk around town, but there’s nothing concrete yet.

What is certain, and despite what many people might think about the mall, is that it is really sad and shocking to see these places turn to dust. One would never expect to see a mall close down, but we all know that since 2021, things have changed considerably, and several places, such as this one, have been hit by what was happening in the world. In any case, if you’re still around, it might be a good time to take advantage of this indoor dog park, at least until we have to say goodbye to this mall forever.
