The only way to reach Blissey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must evolve Happiny into Chansey. While many others only have 2, Blissey is among the Pokémon that have a 3-stage evolutionary line. So, if you start at Happiny, it can take a little time to reach Blissey. Our guide will break down everything you need to do to move from Happiny to Chansey and finally to Blissey.

Evolve Happiny and Chansey into Blissey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Evolve Happiny, Chansey into Blissey

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet present players with numerous ways to evolve their companions. Some only need to reach a designated level to evolve. Others require a certain Friendship Level threshold to be met. Even more Pokémon need a specific item like a stone.

When it comes to Blissey, you can evolve Happiny and Chansey into them in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet using two different means. So, if you want to see every evolutionary stage of this Normal-type Pokémon, you had best get started early on.

Let’s start things out with Happiny. First, you want to catch Happiny, who roams around several areas. However, if you want them at the beginning of the game, you just have to search the starter zone between Mesagoza and your home. Happiny is tiny, so keep a close watch for them.

With Happiny in your party, let’s first evolve them into Chansey, and then we can work to reach Blissey.

The first thing to do with Happiny is to find an Oval Stone. Then, have them hold the Oval Stone and level them up during either the day or the afternoon. This stone is only used by Happiny to get to Chansey. So, there is no other reason for you to have it. You can check out our Oval Stone guide for help if you can’t find one.

With Happiny evolved into Chansey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, we can evolve Chansey into Blissey.

Now, you don’t need a stone for this one. Instead, Chansey is much like Eevee in that you have to raise their Friendship to evolve them. You can’t exactly track this, so you must do everything possible to raise Chansey’s Friendship with you. Thankfully, you have plenty of opportunities to do so.

Take Chansey into battle often, but be sure you win as you can lower Friendship if they faint. You can even go on picnics with Chansey and give them some sandwiches to help this process. Additionally, you can feed Chansey the following berries to raise Friendship:

  • Grepa Berry
  • Hondew Berry
  • Kelpsy Berry
  • Pomeg Berry
  • Qualot Berry
  • Tamato Berry

In your journey to evolve Happiny into Chansey and Chansey into Blissey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, take caution with berries. They do lower stats in exchange for quickly raising happiness. So, perhaps don’t rely too much on this method.

Now, you have everything you need to go through the Blissey evolutionary process. So, catch Happiny near the beginning and get started.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
