A woman in Los Angeles, California, who claims she was dismissed from her nursing program has gone viral after posting a TikTok video in which she blamed her classmates for her situation and referred to them using derogatory terms. The clip has since sparked outrage online, with many viewers saying that someone making those kinds of remarks should not work in healthcare.

In the video, the woman said she had been dismissed from the program due to a conduct issue after a classmate reported her for carrying a small pocket knife. She insisted that she never threatened anyone with the knife and claimed she had only been carrying it for protection because she relies on public transportation to commute.

The student said she suspected that the real reason she was reported was that her classmates did not like her and were “ganging up” on her. She alleged that while she was in the program she dealt with bullying and jealousy from the other students, whom she described as “a lot of ghetto, black, fat Mexicans.”

She added that after being informed she could file a grievance, she submitted a claim where she referred to her classmates as “monkeys.”

“I deserve better,” the student said in the video. “And I thought I’d let you guys know because I just feel so embarrassed. Like, oh my god. Like, Los Angeles has not been the place for me. I do not know what I was thinking.”

Netizens’ Reactions to the California Student’s Video

The comments section under her post was mainly filled with criticism. Many people found her remarks about her classmates more concerning than the dismissal itself. “You made a claim saying WHAT,” one person wrote. Another said, “Girl that comment was SO unnecessary 💀.” A third viewer remarked, “I can’t believe you just said that out loud 😳.” Someone else added, “I was so ready to sympathize.”

One netizen said that her comments demonstrated why “racists shouldn’t be in healthcare.” Another person asked, “Why are you referring to other women like that?”

One commenter who claimed to be one of her classmates said they had previously defended her but changed their mind after seeing the video. “Seeing the way you’re speaking about entire groups of people now has honestly been disappointing. You can talk about your experiences without putting others down… I’m glad the program made the decision it did,” they wrote.

Others warned that the viral video could have long-term consequences for her future career. “This is a nasty digital footprint,” one viewer remarked. “Oh my god. You’ve manage [sic] to tank your career within 45 seconds,” another chimed in.

A few people, however, sympathized with the student. “Sorry that this happened to you. You are likely a very high vibrational person and they are jealous of your calling and anointing,” one supporter commented. Another added, “Baby nursing school is like the boot camp of healthcare. They will find any reason to break you.”

As of now, the video has racked up more than 400,000 views and over 30,000 likes on TikTok. The woman has also posted a multi-part series discussing the incident and responding to comments.
