Fans were treated to the first episode of the adult rated cartoon Rick and Morty on April 1st, with the same episode, played all day on Adult Swim. Seeing the episode did nothing but make them want more though, as they became ravenous for more content, but the shows consistent schedule was not set. Late Thursday night that changed though, as
Late Thursday night that changed though, as the Season 3 trailer was posted all throughout Adult Swim’s social media pages, revealing that Rick and Morty would continue their adventures on July 30th. This comes just a few days after creator Dan Harmon took to Twitter in what he called a “Hungover Thread” in which he addressed the trials and tribulations of making Season 3, simultaneously putting rumors to rest.

It’s likely Harmon and the gang were celebrating the fact that the show will be back in regularly scheduled syndication for the first time in well over a year. The trailer that accompanies the announcement shows that this season will be as crazy and out there as all the previous season, also including Rick’s weird infatuation with turning himself into weird things (I’M PICKLE RICK!)
The trailer shows the return of our favorite bug assassin, Morty getting Swole, and Summer getting morphed into a massive size. In the trailer, Rick also welcomes Morty to the darkest year of their adventures. This would make sense following up the events of episode one of the season, as Rick kill hundreds of people and results in Jerry and Beth’s divorce.
But don’t worry, as our favorite lovable idiot father – whether it’s the same one or one from a different universe – can still be seen throughout the trailer on adventures with the family. It’s exciting that one of the most unique shows on television is finally back and we can’t wait to see what Dan Harmon and company have been working on during the hiatus!
