Stardew Valley is a pretty realistic farming sim, so you will need Seeds to grow anything. However, some Seeds become available only after a certain time. And as you may have guessed, Red Cabbage Seeds are in this group.

So, to get Red Cabbage, you need to wait until Year 2 to buy the Seeds from Pierre’s General Store. There you can purchase these Seeds for 100 Gold. You can also wait until Winter 16th and visit the Magic Shop Boat during the Night Market event. But the price of Seeds there will be the same as in the General Store.

However, it’s worth noting that you have a very small chance of getting Red Cabbage Seeds in Year 1 in Stardew Valley:

  • Visit the Traveling Cart and perhaps one day you will find the desired Summer Crop Seeds among all the goods. But its price will vary from 150 to 1000 Gold.
  • Explore the Skull Cavern and defeat enemies like Purple Slimes, Serpents, and Mummies to get Seeds at a very low chance. (0.125% – 0.2%)

Once you have Red Cabbage Seeds, you need to plant them in Summer. Then wait 9 days and harvest. Don’t forget to use the Seed Maker to get more Seeds for the next planting.

How To Use Red Cabbage in Stardew Valley

Red Cabbage looks great and is very useful too. For example, many characters will not refuse it as a gift, except Vincent, Sam, Jas, Haley, and Abigail. However, it is still a vegetable, which means it can be cooked:

  • Red Plate – Red Cabbage and Radish
  • Fish Taco – Red Cabbage, Tuna, Mayonnaise, and Tortilla
  • Coleslaw – Red Cabbage, Vinegar, and Mayonnaise

Also, you can get from 260 to 572 Gold by selling Red Cabbage. Moreover, players can use Red Cabbage as a dye. And finally, you can sew a Tank Top from this vegetable at the Sewing Machine.

That’s all you need to know about how to get and use Red Cabbage in Stardew Valley. It is quite a valuable vegetable that can be cooked into good dishes, so follow our tips to grow it. In the meantime, take a look at our guide on how to catch a Tuna.
