Taylor Swift is always looking out for her fans. On Friday, Nov. 17, the singer paused her Rio de Janeiro concert in order to address an emergency in the crowd. After hearing fans shout for water, Swift asked security to fix the issue before she returned to performing. At one point, she even threw a water bottle to a fan herself. According to USA Today, temperatures in the city neared 100 degrees, as Brazil is currently experiencing its late spring.

The Instagram user @swiftiesforeternity captured the incident during Swift’s Rio de Janeiro concert. In the clip, a section of the crowd could be seen raising their phones with their flashlights on to signal an emergency. They could also be heard shouting for water, and nearby fans joined in. When Swift realized what was wrong, she asked security to give her fans some water since she agreed it was “very hot.”
When somebody says they need water when it’s this hot, they really need it.

Swift also asked fans to stop chanting while she communicated with the security guards. After one of the workers let her know they had water, she reassured fans that help was coming before resuming her show.
In another video shared by @swiftiesforeternity, Swift was captured performing “All Too Well” during her Rio de Janeiro concert when she noticed another water emergency in the audience. Swift handled the incident by throwing a water bottle into the audience herself.
Swift’s Nov. 17 show was her first of three Rio de Janeiro concerts during her Eras tour. She’ll perform in the city again on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19. Swift will then move on to São Paulo, Brazil, where she’ll perform three concerts at Allianz Parque on Nov. 24, 25, and 26. The shows will be her final Eras performances of 2023.
The singer’s Eras tour will return in February 2024.
