If you’re looking for something to do now that everyone is in coronavirus quarantine, look no further than Nioh 2. Nioh 2 is a PlayStation 4 exclusive game from Team Ninja. Early reviews for this game are promising, with a 96% positive rating from Google users.
Thus far, this game looks like a lot of fun. Nioh 2 is a classic hack and slash RPG, and it seems, dare I say it, better than its predecessor. Nioh 2 is, by all accounts, a highly challenging game with an emphasis on patience, skill, combat, and strategy. Player’s will find this combat engaging, especially with an endurance bar and enemies around every corner.
Nioh 2 brings back everyone’s favorite half-yokai half-human ninja warrior, and like always, he brings a multitude of weapons and new abilities with him. This latest addition to Team Ninja brings with it new arcane skills, the ability to add a companion-AI or up to two friends- and new weapon combinations. The combination of these new features is what makes Nioh 2 so cool.
Combat is the apparent focus of this RPG, which is set in the Sengoku-era of Japan. It allows our beloved half-demon ninja to fight both humans and yokai with typical Ancient Japanese flair. The yokai in this game appears to be a mix of the traditional yokai from Japanese lore, and some unique creatures drummed up by the creative minds at Team Ninja. The weapons are unusual, some traditional Japanese, and more than a few are off the charts cool. The combinations between magic and the weapons are not just a life-saver, its also entertaining.
Without a doubt, Nioh 2 looks great. This game is going to be one for the ages. The combat is dynamic, and the graphics are fantastic. Early streams make this game look amazing, and I’m happy to get lost in Nioh 2’s world of yokai battles for Japan.
