Since World of Warcraft launched over 15 years ago, players have made all kinds of convenience mods to make the title easier and more enjoyable. Whether they’re helping organize the inventory or providing a better view of what’s going on, these mods transform the game in ways that make it simpler, faster, and more enjoyable. The developer has a devoted community, and WoW is always changing, so we recently updated this list of the best World of Warcraft Classic addons to make sure you get the best gaming experience you can. Grab your sword and an ally or two. We’re going back to Azeroth.

How To Get Some of the Best World of Warcraft Classic Addons

Some modding improvements to WoW include making information more readily available. Others offer shortcuts for reporting information and allow for different windows, discreet displays, and organizational methods not seen in the base version of the game. Overall, these mods try not to interfere too much with the game. Instead, they change how the UI behaves and some other informational transfers concerning the game. If you’ve been playing WoW for a while, you no doubt know that the community loves their mods. Hardly any WoW player can admit to not tweaking WoW and how it functions.

All-in-one packages can change everything from the minimap to the spell bars. If you’re new to the idea of modding, don’t worry. WoW Classic Season of Discovery makes using addons surprisingly easy. The simplest method is to use CurseForge. If you’re not familiar, CurseForge is a modding platform similar to Nexus Mods.

First, choose which version of the game you’ll be using addons for in CurseForge. If you’re playing Season of Discovery, select “Classic.” Now use the search bar or browse to find the addons you want. Once you’ve downloaded your addons, extract them and paste them into C:\WoW\World of Warcraft_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns. Your addons should now be ready next time you run the game.

10. Bagnon

Having a messy inventory can be a real headache. If you’re getting sick of managing everything across multiple bags, Bagnon is a great addon. It overhauls the bag system to make looking at and managing your inventory loads easier by condensing everything into one big bag. It can also help automatically sort things by item type. By adding colored borders, you can see an item’s quality and discern other facts about it much faster. Bagnon can also track items across characters, so you can check in on any inventory without needing to log in and out of alts, which is a great QoL improvement.

9. Bartender4

The Bartender4 addon replaces the action bar with a fully customizable one. This change is great if you’re the type to tweak settings as you go along. Now you won’t need a bunch of different bar overhaul mods when you get one just as custom as your evolving preferences. While this might seem like a small change, it goes a long way for those who are sick of the base action bar. You can change the transparency, size, and positioning of every single action bar. If you’re the type to code, you can even write macros to define terms for your action bar, such as hiding when a mouse is not nearby. It doesn’t get much more flexible or efficient than that.

8. Questie

Nothing is quite as frustrating as wandering around a giant map wondering where you’re supposed to go next. Questie is a great convenience for players, adding quest markers and objective points to the world map and minimap. If you accept a quest, you’ll now see a marker near the relevant area that indicates where you should go. Since the features surrounding Questie aren’t part of the base game, it isn’t fully functional from the indicators on the map alone. However, it still gets the job done. Questie still puts any available quests that you have on your map, marking everything pertinent.

7. Deadly Boss Mods

Deadly Boss Mods is a convenient mod that notifies you when enemies are on the way. This includes warnings pertinent to Classic dungeons and more. While modern WoW may have this built right in, Classic sure doesn’t. It helps to have it if you’re transitioning over from modern and struggling a bit to adjust. It can also help if you haven’t played in a while, giving fair warning. As every MMO player knows, it can be hard to get back into certain grooves after stepping away. The mod team behind Deadly Boss Mods has been actively working to expand its effects to all Classic dungeons, so stay tuned.

6. Auctionator Classic

Gold makes the WoW world go round, and to get that gold, you have auctions. If you’ve dealt with them for any amount of time, though, you know that any amount of auction management can be a struggle. Auctionator Classic helps make auctioning just a bit easier by auto-filling list prices and automating some auction functions. It helps simplify tradeskill materials auctioning as well, making the process as breezy as ever. Now you can spend less time sweating the financial details and more time enjoying your profits.

5. Details! Damage Meter Classic

Some of the best WoW Classic addons make the game easier. Damage meter mods generally end up being some of the best World of Warcraft Classic addons, at least according to the community. This is mostly because they help break down how much damage or healing is going on at any given moment. The Details! Damage Meter helps construct a basic understanding of what your party is up to. That helps bring the classic experience up to speed with the modern one. And while it may not have the same amount of bells and whistles as the modern version, it still gets the job done pretty soundly.

4. Titan Panel Classic

Titan Panel Classic adds two stripes to any side of your screen so that you can view your character’s information. This acts as a sort of hotkey to see your information at a glance. If you want to know how much ammo you have, Titan can help. If you need to know your own coordinates, Titan can help you there too. Things like PC performance, exp, and other metrics are all trackable with Titan. WoW Classic is often a game of information more than anything else, and Titan Panel Classic helps put that info at your fingertips.

3. AtlasLoot Classic

If you’re familiar at all with modern WoW, you know that it has a journal that logs stuff for you. These things include loot drops from dungeons and raids. Because Classic has no such feature, AtlasLoot was conceived. This mod allows you to browse the loot history for every dungeon or raid you’ve ever participated in. It’s practically one of the most mandatory mods out there that can help ease functionality a little bit within Classic. No more wondering where you picked up that fancy piece of armor. Now you can go straight to the source.

2. Leatrix Plus

Leatrix Plus is a mixture of quality-of-life improvements that you’ll no doubt welcome to the Classic interface. If there’s one thing to be said about Classic, it’s that it requires a little tuning up. To understand Leatrix better, we recommend taking a look at the page for the full details. However, we can summarize here that Leatrix comes with junk selling, cooldown timers, bag slots, a custom minimap, durability statuses, and more. It also comes with automatic dismount and standing, so you don’t get blocked from performing actions like looting, casting, etc. No wonder this is one of the best addons for WoW Classic.

1. Exorsus Raid Tools

If you’re a raid leader looking for addons, this may be one of the best World of Warcraft Classic addons for you. The modules within Exorsus Raid Tools include raid info such as cooldowns, battle resurrection, a notes section, and a timer. With Exorsus Raid Tools, you can keep track of everything pertinent to your battles and members. The tool also helps you inspect raid members, checking them for buffs to help ensure everything during the raid is going smoothly. When you have dozens of players acting simultaneously, it’s easy for things to get lost in the shuffle. This addon helps prevent that.
