Ark: Survival Ascended is just as stunning as Evolved. However, Evolved shined the most when it featured different mods that added creatures, enhanced gear, and simply improved the basics to make it more fun. Although Ascended is on a new engine, the modding community has dived in with a host of exciting mods. Thanks to Overwolf and CurseForge, Ark: Survival Ascended will see cross-platform mods so console players can get in on the fun. The list is still growing, but I’ve settled on 15 of my favorite mods, sure to make the experience even more enjoyable. For installation help, check out this mod download guide.
15. Appetizer Ark: Survival Ascended Mod

Taming can quickly frustrate even seasoned players. Thankfully, we have the Appetizer mod. It’s a tamer helper that features two consumables and a Tranq Dart that even works underwater. The mod speeds up the process by ensuring passive tamable dinos won’t run off or quickly become aggressive. Instead, you can feed them every five seconds for a full minute.
14. Advanced Fishing Bait Mod

Live out your dreams of being a master fisher with the Advanced Fishing Bait mod. It takes away the minigame to ensure success all the time. The mod even gives you three new bait engrams, all craftable, that reduce lure time. It’s the perfect means to get all your fishing out of the way.
13. Solo Farm Ark: Survival Ascended Mod

There’s no shame in going at it alone. If you’re just like me and prefer some solitude from time to time in Ark: Survival Ascended, the Solo Farm mod alleviates some of the stress. You can select which creatures to drop into farm mode who will keep attacking until they fill the inventory.
12. Backpack Ark: Survival Ascended Mod

Sometimes, the best mods for Ark: Survival Ascended are the simplest ones. Case in point: the Backpack mod. It’s invisible so that it won’t get in the way of your character design. However, you can craft and equip it by Level 5 to reduce weight by 50%. Luckily enough, it works for all resources.

We’ve all felt the pain of running out of storage. Of deciding which items to toss and what to keep. With the CurseForge Big Storage Box mod for Ark: Survival Ascended, you don’t have to stress and pull your hair out anymore. The Box gives an impressive 300 slots. Not just that, but the mod also offers a giant increase in health from 500 to 5,000 and will even lengthen the spoil timer on everything.

Who wouldn’t want to refine materials faster? That’s why you’ll need the Better Forges Ark: Survival Ascended mod. You type in any number to make the smelting process as fast as you’d like it—quick, simple, and more than helpful.
9. Potions Helpers Mod

Ark: Survival Ascended has a potion for just about anything. You can never have too many, whether you carry them around or store them (especially if you use that Big Storage Box mod). The Potions Helpers mod provides you with everything you need, from Healing Potions to Mindwipe Potions. There are even XP Potions for that extra boost.
8. Super Spyglass Plus Mod

The Spyglass is a handy tool in the game, but let’s be honest: it does the bare necessities. With the Super Spyglass Plus mod, you will discover everything you need to know about anything in Ark: Survival Ascended. It offers detailed information about what you point at, such as tame requirements, buffs, details in supply drops and item bags, and more. We love it because it lets you know if something is worth your time before you rush over to it.
7. BetterTranqs Mod

Who wouldn’t want an easier way to take down those stubborn creatures without killing them? The BetterTranqs mod is one of the best weapon-centric mods to make your hunt easier in Ark: Survival Ascended. It’s designed for both the Crossbow and Bow, so you don’t have to settle for one or the other. Plus, it comes with seven types of Tranq Arrows and eight types of Narcotics.
6. Death Inventory Keeper Mod

There’s nothing worse than venturing off to explore this beautiful land with a healthy inventory, only for one of these ferocious creatures to take you by surprise. And then you’re dead, and you wake to find all that precious inventory gone. Well, the Death Inventory mod stops all that. It even works offline.

Spoiled Meat, a treasured resource in the game, doesn’t always happen fast. So, why not download a mod that will speed up the process? With this mod, you never have to worry about waiting for the meat to rot away.
4. Utilities Plus Ark: Survival Ascended Mod

Another favorite mod of ours focuses on quality of life. It eliminates the need to recraft items that typically wear down. This includes the Torch, Grappling Hook, Parachute, Flare Gun, and more much-needed items. It certainly eliminates the annoyance that comes when items that shouldn’t really degrade wind up degrading (e.g. Bola).
3. Automated Ark Mod

It’s easy for some tasks to turn tedious. That’s why the Automated Ark mod is a godsend. If you’ve played with it in Evolved, you know just how useful it is. Some of the things it automates include pulling, egg management, and feeding. It feels good to know you won’t accidentally forget to take care of your prehistoric companions.

Do we have any Norse mythology fans? This Ark: Survival Ascended mod on CurseForge is practically a necessity for you. It features scenery, creatures, weapons, and armor inspired by Norse mythology dwarven culture. The map is massive, with several mysteries woven throughout. There are even plans to enhance the mod further with the likes of dwarven enemies.

One of my all-time favorite mods for Ark: Survival Ascended is a collection of mods. Additions Ascended adds several creatures from Ark: Additions to the game. Among them are the Helicoprion, Deinosuchus, and Archelon. Out of all the mods, I strongly encourage you to install these, if not just to add more fun to the game.
