A Utah mother broke into tears online because she doesn’t know where her 11-year-old daughter is after her ex refused to tell her where he and her daughter are. She got even more alarmed when her daughter’s school said that her daughter had been withdrawn on a Friday. She has also reported the incident to the police regarding the dispute.
The story was uploaded to the mother’s TikTok account, misswonderful2u. It got several hundred thousand views, with many commenters expressing concern for the daughter.
The mother said that she has tried to contact her ex and even requested a welfare check at the address where she suspected they were staying, but discovered that they no longer lived there. She argued that her concerns were justified since she hadn’t heard from her daughter for two weeks. Currently, she was asking anyone online who might have been in contact with her daughter, whether through Roblox, Snapchat, or other platforms, to contact her.
In an update, she said that she was now back in contact with her daughter. However, the custody battle with her ex had gotten even more fierce. She has now opened a GoFundMe, asking anyone who could spare money to help her in the legal battle.
TikTok Users Rally Behind the Worried Utah Mother
The TikTok viewers were wholly siding with the Utah mother, finding her ex’s actions unacceptable. Although they had been divorced, the daughter should be allowed to see her mother. “How is this not considered kidnapping?” one user asked.
Some users also shared their personal stories similar to the Utah mother’s, with one commenter writing, “My son was kidnapped from me by my ex. I wouldn’t wish this on ANYONE. No one will help me, my state is treating the situation as it’s ‘finders keepers’, whoever took them first gets to keep them. After escaping extreme DV, I am in shambles every day over my baby. It’s been a year and a half of fighting now.”
Other comments were cheering on the woman, hoping that her custody battles against her ex would be successful and that she would be able to keep her daughter. Some comments also offered various pieces of advice to try to help the woman solve her issues.
It seemed there would still be an uphill battle for the Utah mother. However, at least now she had her daughter back with her and the support of her followers on TikTok.
