One interesting environmental object that adventurers encounter during their journey in One Piece Odyssey is the Taxi Sign. These signs will appear scattered across the map as points of interest. When players first discover these curious signs during Chapter 1, they will not be able to use or interact, which will naturally be confusing for many players. Typically, a taxi structure or similar landmarks in other games indicate that these spots can be used as fast-travel points across the world. However, new players in One Piece Odyssey might be disappointed that these Taxi Signs do not offer such services.
Using Taxi Signs in One Piece Odyssey
Fortunately, the speculation that new players have about Taxi Signs in One Piece Odyssey is correct; these signpost landmarks are used for fast travel. However, the mechanic to instantly teleport between locations does not become available until Chapter 2 of the main campaign, meaning that the Taxi Signs of Chapter 1 serve no purpose until later on.

According to YouTuber FP Good Game, players must traverse through a sandy desert during Chapter 2 of the main campaign. About halfway through the chapter, Luffy and his crew will encounter a monkey-like creature named Yoisa. Several hostile monsters will be bullying the NPC, so players must save the friendly creature from its attackers. Once the hostiles have been dealt with, Yoisa will show its appreciation by offering Luffy and his friends the ability to fast travel. Accordingly, players can interact with Taxi Signs in One Piece Odyssey and instantly teleport to any location they visited prior.
FP Good Game additionally states that only the Taxi Signs that players have examined in One Piece Odyssey will become accessible for fast travel later on. For instance, if players rush through a new area without exploring and fail to inspect the zone’s Taxi Signs, they will be unable to fast travel back to the location until they have approached and examined the sign. Later on, players will encounter the Crab Rover, another taxi-like service that enables players to traverse the world atop a giant crab by interacting with Taxi Signs called Crabby Ports in One Piece Odyssey.
One Piece Odyssey is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
