Weather is a very important aspect in Zeekerss’ co-op loot ’em up as it makes a dramatic impact on the difficulty of the planet or moon you’re exploring. When there are thunderstorms, for instance, you’ll suffer an instant death if you’re holding anything made of metal. But what about eclipses? How do they factor into things? Well, for those wondering what an eclipse means in Lethal Company, you’re in the right place. Let’s get into it, shall we?
What Is the Meaning of an Eclipse in Lethal Company?
(Updated on September 24, 2024 – updated links and format)
In short, a planet or moon with an eclipse is incredibly challenging for new players as the spawn rate of monsters increases significantly during this extreme weather condition. In fact, your HUD will even give you a red warning popup before embarking on a trip to a moon with an eclipse (as pictured in the image below), advising your crew to “exercise caution!”
You see, not only do Sandworms now spawn in pairs, but way more Eyeless Dogs and Forest Giants will appear nearby your ship’s landing zone. Of course, if you’re a skilled team and know what you’re doing, then an eclipsed moon could be a good location to plunder as the quality of the loot will likely be more lucrative than, say, an easier moon with fewer environmental hazards. In other words, it’s a bit of a high risk/high reward situation.
Making matters even worse, however, is the fact that you’ll be exploring the eclipsed moon in darkness. Suffice to say, we’d highly recommend purchasing a torch and some basic equipment, like some walkie-talkies or a zap gun, to help you work together as a team and defeat the otherworldly monstrosities. Otherwise, it may just be an impossible task. Good luck!
So, there you have it. That’s everything you need to know about what an eclipse means in Lethal Company. For more, here’s every monster and how to defeat them. And for everything else, keep it locked right here at The Nerd Stash.
