During the Friendship Quest “Nature and Nurture” with Scar in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players are tasked with making Extra Fizzy Root Beer, a 3-Star Recipe that requires a special ingredient called Dried Ginger. When seeing the name of this ingredient, most players will recall that Ginger is a Spice that can be foraged from the Forgotten Lands biome, north of the Sunlit Plateau. However, while Dried Ginger and Ginger share the same sprite artwork, they are not the same items. Dried Ginger cannot be found in the Forgotten Lands but is instead located within a new area known as the Plateau Mine, also referred to as the Vitalys Mines.
Finding Dried Ginger in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To get Dried Ginger in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must first begin “Nature and Nurture” by speaking with Scar and then enter the Vitalys Mines. The entrance can be found at the mouth of the river in the Sunlit Plateau. Once inside, Dreamers should be on the lookout for a green chest.

While exploring the Vitalys Mines, players will need to make their way through several clusters of Night Thorns and minable boulders. Therefore, make sure to have enough Energy before delving into the tunnels or bring some snacks. Eventually, players will find a small waterfall with an explosive barrel and a sign that tasks players with finding ingredients in the nearby mining camp. Accordingly, go down the slope and investigate the camp. Players will encounter a green chest at the entry portion of the site. Interacting with this chest will drop three items, one of which is Dried Ginger in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
After finding the Dried Ginger in Disney Dreamlight Valley, return to the Village and use any stove to begin cooking Extra Fizzy Root Beer. The recipe will require the Dried Ginger gathered early, including Vanilla from the Sunlit Plateau and Sugarcane from Dazzle Beach. Bear in mind that, while cooking, Dreamers must make sure not to put in regular Ginger instead of its dried variant, as that will produce normal root beer. Once the special root beer has been made, players can place it inside the explosive barrel with Candy to complete the quest objective.
