The King Scallop, also known as the Grand Scallop, is a rather rare item because you can get it by significantly progressing in the game. Let’s take a look at the location where you can find King Scallop in Coral Island. As you may’ve guessed, this is an ocean dweller, so you’ll have to go diving to find it. But it’s not so easy because Grand Scallop is located quite deep, so you will need to properly explore the ocean first.
How To Get King Scallop in Coral Island
So before you start looking for the Grand Scallop, you need to start diving. This opportunity opens on the 8th day of spring when you receive a letter with instructions. Thus, you can visit the dock and start diving into the ocean to clean it. Day after day, by visiting the ocean and helping the local flora and fauna to survive, such as corals, you may progress and dive deeper and deeper.
The default depth when you start diving is 10 meters. To find the King Scallop, you will need to clear the Coral Sites more and more to open up new areas. The goal you have to reach is 50–60 meters underwater because this is where the Grand Scallop spawns. So, keep collecting garbage, healing corals, and completing Ling Jiang’s quests to reach this goal. Once you dive to the right depth, it’s not that challenging to find King Scallop here, and you’ll probably spot one or more critters of this type. Also, it’s worth noting that King Scallops spawn in any season, even in winter, so you shouldn’t have any problems finding it.
How To Use King Scallop
Once you find one or more of these creatures, you can use them for one of the following purposes:
- Give as a gift
Not the best option, but still, if you haven’t found any other variant, you can use this one. If you’d like, you can give King Scallop as a gift to someone on the island, but keep in mind that everyone is neutral about it. Yes, no one will hate you for it, but no one will love you either, so it’s up to you to decide whether to do it.
- Dehydrate King Scallop
One of the most useful ways to use King Scallop would be to turn it into Dried King Scallop using a dehydrator. This is much better than just gifting the item to someone. If you decide to give a Dried King Scallop as a gift, the results will be better. In addition, Dried King Scallop is an artisan product that you can bring to the Harvest Festival to try to win.
- Lake Temple Offering
The last use of King Scallop is required to donate to the Ocean Scavengables bundle in the Crop altar. If you want to complete all the offerings to the goddess as quickly as possible, this option is a great choice.
Currently, these are all possible uses of King Scallop, but given the popularity of the game, it’s safe to say that the developers will come up with several more options soon with the new updates.
