How to Get TM 123 Surf in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Like most simple TMs, you can get TM 123 Surf in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in two ways:
- Find in the wild Paldea.
- Craft on TM Machine.
It is also worth noting that you can not proceed to craft until you get the recipe for this TM. If you have progressed far enough in the game’s story and defeated Team Star Fighting Crew, you will automatically unlock the recipe and can move on to crafting. But if you haven’t met this boss or don’t have enough resources to craft, you can find some Surf TMs in Paldea. Unfortunately, there are only two points with TM 123 Surf, but these are all in early locations, so you don’t have to look long:
- The first place you should visit is South Province (Area Five). Get to the east beach and take the Pokemon Center as your starting point. Then sail south, reach a small island, and collect your first TM 123 Surf on the far island side.
- You can also visit the southern coastal town of Levincia and walk through the narrow streets. Go to the point in the second image above, and collect the second Surf TM.

How to Craft TM 123 Surf in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Once you defeat the Team Star Fighting Crew or find at least one Surf TM, you will automatically unlock the recipe and be able to craft copies. So head to your nearest Pokemon Center and use the TM Machine. To Craft TM 123 Surf, select the appropriate recipe from the list and prepare the following materials in advance:
- 10000 LP
- Finneon Scale x5
- Wiglett Sand x3
- Finizen Mucus x3
