Once again, Honkai Star Rail players face a new challenge for Version 2.1, and we don’t mean the gameplay, but the upcoming character banners. On March 26th, a new update is coming to this turn-based game, and it means only two things: firstly, a new set of waifus and husbandos, and secondly, a new mortgage to get these characters. But before you take the real estate title of your house, you should know which is the best character for the team compositions you can create.
Who is the Best Character in Honkai Star Rail’s 2.1 Banners?
It is more than evident that the developers have a lot of love for Acheron and that they invested a big part of their budget and time in her gameplay and animations. Of course, they had to do it because she’s the “Raiden” of this universe, but how valuable is Acheron for your team? We can’t deny that her instakill ability is incredible. It can take out one or more enemies without engaging in combat, and together with Misha, you can freeze them to ensure you take them all out quickly. However, even though Acheron does damage, she is more effective with her Light Cone and Eidolon 2, which translates into investing more money.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably gone for the banners with waifus and one occasional husbando instead of going for support characters or healers. So, if you are having trouble facing bosses, even if your characters have a good build, you need Luocha. This healer will make your team basically immortal. At the same time, he can do area damage, unlike Bailu or Natasha; Luocha does more than decent damage. Even if you didn’t manage to get Huohuo, Luocha is an excellent option to stop you from dying in the middle of combat. However, you should never trust a guy who walks around with a coffin everywhere.
For phase 2, the new character is Aventurine, another IPC member and Topaz’s partner. Despite being a gambling fan, Aventurine is a preservation follower, so he will defend your money and the team with all his strength. From his animations, it seems this character also has follow-ups like Topaz and a “lucky” mechanic similar to Qingque’s playstyle, making him a unique tank.
Last but not least, there is the Jingliu re-run, so if you don’t have a DPS, this legendary heroine is a great choice. Even if she is tainted with Mara, it means that when Jingliu gets out of control, she switches from using Skill Points to consuming your team’s HP. She also inflicts significant damage on her enemies thanks to her high CRIT stats. Being on the Path of Destruction allows her to change from a Single-focused attacker to causing splash damage. If you don’t mind having a heartless waifu, Jingliu is the best character banner 2.1 of Honkai Star Rail.
Each character adapts differently to your team, depending on what others you already have in your roster. But no one stops you from spending Stellar Jade on your favorite party members; each playstyle is unique and depends on whether you want to take on Pure Fiction, or just farm Calyxes daily.
