If your Sim is self-employed, registering with the Ministry of Labor allows you to register your Sim’s business as an official business. This can be pretty helpful, as it will enable your Sim to be employed, even if it isn’t through a conventional career. Though, sometimes, the idea of the Ministry of Labor and the process of registering can be a bit confusing to players who don’t already have experience with it.

In order to register with the Ministry of Labor in The Sims 4, you will have to pull up your phone from the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. From there, choose the Career Tab, then choose the option that reads: Register with the Ministry of Labor. This will pull up a prompt to explain what your career is. Here, you’ll have to input your job position, along with a description of the position.

Doing this allows you to create jobs for your Sims that don’t fall under the typical categories and essentially allows your Sims to be self-employed if you wish for them to be. In most cases, this can even help you to fulfill some of your Sim’s dreams and aspirations in a way that allows them to make money off of their interests as well. This can make the game feel much more realistic and add opportunities that you wouldn’t have otherwise, making the game much more enjoyable.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
