Are you looking to complete the “Decorate With Passion” side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? This side quest, which you can pick up at Kara Kara Bazaar in the Gerudo Desert, will send you on the hunt for precious rubies to help a Gerudo please her mentor. It’s a pretty short quest, but finding the materials you’ll need to complete it can be tricky, as finding the right ore is somewhat random. If you’re looking for help, this guide will explain how to complete “Decorate With Passion” in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Get Decorate With Passion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
You’ll need to travel to Kara Kara Bazaar in the Gerudo Desert to obtain this side quest. The nearest fast travel point is Mayatat Shrine if you have it unlocked. If not, the Bazaar can also be reached by following the road from Gerudo Canyon Stable or gliding southwest from Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
On the eastern side of Kara Kara Bazaar, you’ll find a Gerudo named Boraa sitting in some shade. Talk to Boraa, and she’ll explain she’s frustrated because her mentor wants a specific weapon decoration. Apparently, her mentor wants Boraa to create a weapon that “sparkles” and “radiates burning passion,” but Boraa can’t figure out what this means. She also specifies that Monster Parts can’t be used in the weapon since her mentor is allergic to them. Offer to help Boraa solve the riddle, and you’ll be given the side quest “Decorate With Passion.”
How to Complete Decorate With Passion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
In order to create the weapon Boraa’s mentor is looking for, you’ll need a ruby. One of the six gem types in Tears of the Kingdom, rubies are plenty sparkly, and as the fire elemental gem, they’re also burning. Finding rubies in Tears of the Kingdom is going to require you to do a lot of mining, so make sure you have a rock hammer of some sort equipped. Rubies can be found by breaking open ore deposits all across Hyrule, but we had the best luck exploring caves in the Eldin region. You can also find rubies and other ore deposits by defeating Stone Taluses and Battle Taluses or scanning certain amiibo. Our complete guide on how to find rubies in Tears of the Kingdom can be found here.
What ore drops when you break open an ore deposit is random, though, so you could be breaking rocks for a while before you come across a ruby. Thankfully, they’re not as hard to find as the elusive diamond, so you’ll likely find one eventually. Once you get a ruby, open the material selection menu by holding the up arrow. Scroll to select the ruby you just got, then press X to drop it on the ground. Next, equip any melee weapon and use the ability wheel to select Fuse. Activate the Fuse, then press Y to fuse the ruby to your equipped weapon. Be careful not to fuse it to your shield, as that won’t count for the quest.
Return to Boraa in Kara Kara Bazaar with your new ruby weapon equipped. Speak to her, and select the “What about this?” dialogue option when it comes up. Boraa will ask to examine the weapon, and she’ll be pleased, certain that her mentor would love a weapon like this. She’ll reward you with Electric Keese Wings, encouraging you to decorate your own weapons. The side quest “Decorate With Passion” will be marked complete, and Boraa even lets you keep the ruby-fused weapon, which now has a +1 to attack and the ability to create fire attacks.
