If you struggle to make tough decisions, here’s what you need to know about whether Meli stole the locket in Baldur’s Gate 3. As you’ll no doubt be aware by now, the game offers several endings, and your decisions need to be strategic if you’re wanting to ensure you don’t upset a character and take a wrong turn. Indeed, every decision has a consequence and can lead to characters crossing you off for the entire game.

Should You Protect Meli or Side with Barth’s Locket in Baldur’s Gate 3

In this Baldur’s Gate 3 scene, Meli is suspected of stealing a man’s locket. You witnessed the situation and must make certain decisions to get to the truth. But above all, to reach an understanding between the child and the owner of the locket and get them to reach a satisfactory agreement.

  • If you stay out of the discussion, Meli will continue to claim that he has not stolen anything, and the locket owner, Barth, will end up slapping the boy. At that point, Meli will drop the locket he effectively stole in Baldur’s Gate 3.
  • If you defend the boy and his version so the locket owner doesn’t hit him, a guard will show up to take care of the situation, and you will look like you wanted to cover up for Tiefling kid Meli.

So now, knowing that Meli stole the locket in Baldur’s Gate 3, the best decision will be to persuade the boy to tell the truth. When you get into the situation, get Meli to reason and accept his mistake. Then, he returns the locket in Baldur’s Gate 3 to its owner.

When Meli informs the owner of the locket that he has stolen, he explains the cause. The boy has committed this illicit act because the locket reminds him of his mother. Unfortunately, his mother is no longer with him. Upon hearing his story, the owner of the locket takes pity on him and allows him to keep the object.

If you follow this path of choices and roll the dice successfully, you will have reached the best outcome in this conflict. You will get Meli to be sincere and stay with the memory of his mother. And that the owner of the locket won’t resort to violence and listen to the little one.
