Horror films and shows have reached a point where they are so uninspired, with every one revolving around a curse or relying on jump scares to frighten, that they feel like a parody. In fact, parodying those types of films have become their own genre. Eli Craig’s latest film, Little Evil, hopes to be the next hit in the horror comedy when it comes to Netflix in a little over a week.
In a trailer released for the Netflix Original movie earlier today, Little Evil revealed its story, which centers around a man named Gary (Adam) who has just married Samantha (Evangeline Lilly) the woman of his dreams. He soon discovers that his new six-year-old step son, Lucas, is a bit of a handful though. So much so that he thinks that he may actually be the Antichrist.

Like most step parents, he has trouble bonding with Lucas. He never looks Gary in the eye and doesn’t talk much, unless he is yelling at him to get out of his room with his room in through his goat puppet.
The premise for the film is perfect for the modern age of horror, with films like Orphan, The Conjuring, and Annabelle: Creation using kids or kid toys as a means of trying to scare audiences. It’s no surprise that Eli Craig is the mind behind this film as well, especially after the success of his 2010 film Tucker and Dale vs Evil, which parodied the slasher genre.
Fans of the horror comedy genre won’t have to wait long to see if Little Evil can live up to the expectations set by Craig’s previous endeavor, as it will be released on Netflix on September 1, 2017, starring Adam Scott, Evangeline Lilly, and Bridget Everett!
