We’ve all likely been through those bad days when, if anyone dares to make us upset, we give them a piece of our mind. And while celebrities are ‘just people’ too, they also have millions of eyes watching their every move, and “APT” singer Bruno Mars probably didn’t think things through when he snapped back at a fan’s criticism.
It all went down on X when one account was celebrating the release of Mars’ latest single, “I Just Might.” And one fan, who clearly has listened to many of the “Uptown Funk” artist’s songs, remarked, “he’s been releasing the same song for the past ten years.” Bruno Mars, clearly ticked off by the comment, responded with his own insult: “and u never been [expletive] in yo life 🥰.” Either he had second thoughts or his PR team consulted with him because Mars quickly deleted the tweet, not too long after humiliating his fan.
The Internet Agrees that Bruno Mars’ Music Is All Too Same-y
But like anything on the internet, nothing is lost or forgotten, and plenty of people quickly caught wind of the “24K Magic” songwriter’s insult. Unfortunately for him, though, many agreed with the comment about his music being ‘same-y.’ “Bruno Mars has always coasted on being an act heavily influenced by nostalgia,” stated a Redditor, saying how even this new “I Just Might” single sounds like a retread of what we’ve all heard many times already.

Others added that Bruno Mars has the advantage of being a popular male artist, which means society doesn’t mind that he puts out the same type of music over and over. On the other hand, a female artist is constantly pressured to innovate and reinvent themselves; otherwise, she is criticized if her music sounds too similar.
That said, many users still found it ridiculous that Mars put in the time and effort to insult one out of thousands of negative comments he likely gets on a regular basis. “I can’t fathom being a millionaire and being that pressed by what a random person on the internet says about you 🥲,” jokes one commenter. “Why anyone is still on Twitter/X is beyond me. That people can’t part with their ‘followings’ on one single platform is such a sad, pathetic excuse for lacking morals,” added another.
Criticisms aside, people were also surprised that “The Lazy Song” singer responded to a random person’s comment at all, saying how they’d print and frame the opportunity to get a superstar to react to them. In other news, Bruno Mars has also been catching flak recently with BTS fans due to his comments in a recent interview about working with BLACKPINK’s Rosé for “APT.” Regardless, his new “I Just Might” looks to be performing just fine and will likely continue amassing millions of views and listens on YouTube and other platforms.
