We’re all trying to get somewhere in our busy lives. So, when there was a backup at an airport in North Carolina, it’s safe to say that all busy commuters were hoping things would move along. But one impatient woman tried to get to the front of the line, bypassing all the commuters. That is, until other fliers stepped in to stop her.
Elizabeth (@elizabethrobson76) recorded the moment a woman tried to push to the front of a line at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The woman tells the man in front of her that she’s asking him to excuse her as she tries to push through to the front. The man behind her suddenly butts in with, “Why are you so special?”
The woman replies to both of them, “Because I’m trying to get to the front.” They plead their case and tell her that they, too, are trying to get to the front just like everybody else. The man tries to tell her that the door isn’t open and that’s why they’re all just stuck standing there. She continues on by explaining, “I’m trying to get up to the front.”
You can then hear the woman asking the man in front of her to move. He says no and then tells her, “I’m saying no. I can say no.” She tries once again to get through but he blocks her. She asks, “If I hit you, that’s assaulting you?” Everybody tells her that, yes, that would be assault. But she doesn’t really seem to care or understand that. They explain to her that she will be arrested due to multiple witnesses who reportedly observed her actions.
After American Airlines hears the commotion, they come on the loudspeaker to take control of the situation. They tell people to be respectful of one another as they wait to get off the plane. Meanwhile, she’s telling the men that they’re “being disrespectful” for not moving out of her way.
Commenters flocked to Elizabeth’s video, shocked by the actions of the people on the plane. Many showed support for the man who called out the pushy Karen, stating, “I love this dude with the beard.” Another commenter questioned, “I’m still confused on the mindset of not having to wait just like everyone else.” Another commenter mentioned, “Some people are used to getting their way in life.”
Commenters continue to share reactions to the interaction and how it was handled by those involved, with many debating the actions of both the passenger and those who confronted her.
