Neighbors can always be complicated. However, there are certain situations that make these people more irritating, and those in Huntsville, Alabama, might be suffering from one of the worst types. According to a recent picture, there is one particular neighbor who keeps putting their trash in the street. And while that isn’t the issue itself, the bigger problem is that the trash keeps overflowing and remains uncontained in the street, creating a hazard for everyone going through that area.
User Nicksb92 shared the picture on the Huntsville Subreddit, where you can see several trash containers on the ground, with a lot of trash around them. What makes matters worse is that it seems to be a contained situation, as you can also observe other garbage containers in order, with no trash overflowing from them. Now, while this may seem like a one-time thing, OP mentioned that this has happened before, and in even worse ways.
In the post, the OP claims that the property owner has declined trash services for over a month. They also mention that there was even a mattress in the street previously, which the city thankfully took care of. However, the rest of the trash remains, creating a hazard and an annoyance for many in the neighborhood.
On top of that, OP also claims that some of the trash has reached the gutters and could potentially cause a blockage. Still, with all this trash and the potential hazards it poses to the neighborhood, the city hasn’t done anything.
Alabama Neighbors Complain About the Unruly Resident
This picture caught the attention of many, as it seems that those who have traveled this road in Huntsville have already dealt with the mountain of trash and have yet to come up with a solution. Yet some in the comments suggested a few points that may raise awareness of this situation.
“Contact the city council rep for that district.“
“Could you contact a local TV station for help?“
Others, on the other hand, were just fed up after seeing this and started criticizing the property owner.
“This can’t be legal.”
“I would think that the nuclear option for the city would be to threaten to revoke the Certificate of Occupancy for this property.“
Ultimately, people think the city should intervene already before this situation gets out of hand. Still, some believe it won’t happen, since the problem has been going on for a long time.
