A woman in North Carolina is facing backlash after complaining online that a nurse told her to stop yelling at 2 a.m. inside a hospital.
The woman shared a video with her followers while she was inside a hospital room. In the video, she said a nurse had come into her room to complain about the noise coming from it. According to the woman, the nurse told her, “I know you have a personal life, but we can hear you down the hallway, and it’s two in the morning.”
According to the woman, she had been arguing with her baby’s father around 2 a.m., prompting the nurse to respond to the noise. After recounting the interaction, the woman made it clear that she did not agree with the nurse’s request. “I really don’t give a [expletive],” she said. She then used a profanity to describe the nurse before adding, “I’m arguing with my baby daddy. Do you know how intense this [expletive] get?”
The woman continued by saying that she is always loud when arguing with her baby’s father, regardless of where they are. “I don’t give a [expletive],” she repeated. She also said she did not think the nurse understood how intense those arguments could become.
The video also highlighted why hospitals generally have rules about keeping noise to a minimum, especially during the night. Hospitals are intended to be calm environments where patients can rest and recover while healthcare workers provide medical care. Excessive noise from patients or visitors can disturb others who may be seriously ill, in pain, or trying to sleep.
In situations like the one shown in the video, nurses are often expected to remind patients or visitors to lower their voices when the noise becomes disruptive. These requests are intended to help maintain a safe, respectful, and healing environment for everyone in the hospital rather than target any one person.
Viewers Attack North Carolina Woman Over Response to Nurse
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the North Carolina woman for complaining about the nurse’s request, with many arguing that she should have been more considerate of other patients in the hospital. “Time to leave the hospital [expletive]. Go act like that at your OWN hospital, oh wait, you don’t have one. So follow the [expletive] rules you degenerate [expletive],” one person wrote. Another commenter suggested, “Wait till she is sleeping and use a air horn to wake her up. Watch how fast she cares about noise then. Me at her bed at 3 am, 4 am, 5 am. I love to mirror other people to show them.. themselves. They always get mad for some reason.”
More viewers criticized the woman for her comments, with many arguing that she should have been more considerate of those around her. “A complete lack of social intelligence, decorum, class, decency, manners or consideration of others who need sleep to recover in a medical environment. Uncivilized, self-important beast,” one person wrote. Another commenter mockingly said, “Shocker. My unruly behavior is everyone else’s responsibility to endure, because I’m special, therefore my issues are special and must be heard at 2 AM by everyone in the hospital, regardless if they want to or not.”
The video sparked a conversation about the importance of keeping noise to a minimum in hospitals. That is so patients can rest and recover without unnecessary disruptions. It also led to broader discussions about the challenges nurses face in enforcing hospital rules while balancing patient care with the need to maintain a calm, respectful environment for everyone.
