A man in California demonstrated his unorthodox way of starting his truck by using an axe. The odd display of engineering was later followed by a major reverse disaster, as the truck, for reasons unknown, moved on its own directly into a street light.
The bizarre and eye-catching clip was shared online by Z, who goes by Zakkaa based on past vlogs and his username. He regularly shares video montages featuring his Toyota Tacoma, so the viral clip attached above is particularly not off-brand for him. It garnered 3.7 million views, 438,200 likes, and more than 6,000 comments.
The California man began recording another individual who was showing off his Ford truck. He was carrying an axe, which would normally set some alarms off, but in his case, it acted as a sort of bypass starter tool. In trucks such as the one shown in the clip, starter solenoid are often mounted right on the fender, positioned next to the battery.
Reverse Disaster
Before he “turned the ignition,” the man did have a warning. According to him, the truck “reverses on its own.” Thankfully for Zakkaa and all the other individuals located at the gas station, the man had a practical solution. He placed a brick at the end so the truck doesn’t reverse like there’s no tomorrow.
With the axe in hand, the man went on and started his truck. As predicted, the truck began reversing. Unfortunately for him, the truck, which lay flat on the ground, completely failed to prevent it from moving backwards.
The distraught man quickly chased down his truck and managed to open the driver’s door. He, however, was unable to enter the truck to potentially hit the brakes. As a result, the truck directly hit a street light. Zakkaa, having witnessed the whole incident, said, “Oh no.” He then wrote in the clip’s description, “Truck had a mind of its own.”

The viral clip sparked mulitple responses online from viewers who were equally confused as shocked by the string of events leading to the crash. One said, “Bro had 5 business days to get in and press the brake.” Another one commented, “He legit knew it was comin and still failed.”
Others, frustrated, shared some practical solutions that could have prevented the crash. One wrote, “Why wouldn’t you put the guy recording in the driver’s seat?” Another one added, “Next time put it in neutral.”
Zakkaa has not shared an update on the Ford truck. Chances are, his friend will probably get a bigger brick next time he plans on starting his truck with an axe.
