A pressure washer in Houston, Texas, was driving his truck when he came across an SUV engulfed in flames. Without thinking twice, he used his tools to successfully put out the inferno, beating the responding firefighters by a few minutes.
The fiery clip was shared on TikTok by PropXpert Pressure Washing. The man behind the camera often shares his pressure washing work. By far, the video attached above became his biggest one ever, garnering 1.5 million views, 172,500 likes, and more than 6,200 comments.
The Texas man was driving his pickup truck, which had his pressure-washing equipment attached. As he approached an intersection, he noticed black smoke coming from a parked SUV. He drove closer to the vehicle and found its hood open and intense fire coming out of the engine.
Pressure Washing Fire
The pressure washer exited his truck immediately and grabbed one of his hoses. He then turned on the engine and began spraying the SUV. Little by little, the flames began to subside. He continued spraying the engine compartment as the flames gradually died down. Then, a fire truck pulled over right behind the smoking vehicle.
“Here come the big dawgs,” the hose man said.
As soon as the firefighters approached the SUV, the pressure washer stopped and returned to his equipment, shutting the engine off. He let the first responders deal with what was left of the car fire. The clip didn’t show an active fire after he finished spraying water on it. He added, “I’m just gonna let the firefighters do their job now.”
As some firefighters continued to spray water on the SUV, the pressure washer explained that he usually deals with exterior cleaning and commercial buildings. A car engine fire was definitely not his usual area of expertise, and once firefighters arrived, he quickly stepped aside and allowed them to take over.
Reactions
The Texas man’s video sparked multiple reactions, some of which were lighthearted in nature. One said, “Careful with the pressure, could scratch the paint.” Another one commented, “The fire department should’ve filled your tank up for you!“
Others were worried that the man had overshot it, arguing that he might be in for some legal trouble down the line. One wrote, “That’s too much water. Gonna cause all kinds of water damage to the car.” Another one added, “You gonna buy her a new engine after blasting water all in the intake?“
Whatever damage the pressure washer may have caused was clearly not on the man’s mind as flames poured from beneath the SUV’s hood. Once the “big dawgs” arrived, however, he knew exactly when to put down his hose and let Houston’s firefighters take it from there.
