A photographer in North Carolina said she bought film rolls from Amazon for a wedding, just in case. When the date came, she was shocked to find rocks instead of film. Fortunately, the event wasn’t ruined, but now the seller has a lot of explaining to do.
Katie Hunt, the woman behind the kdhuntphotographyllc TikTok account, shared the film-rock realization online. She is a professional photographer who often shares her work online, mostly focused on weddings. The clip attached above quickly became her biggest one yet, garnering 958,700 views, 59,200 likes, and more than 700 comments.
The clip shows the North Carolina woman gearing up for the upcoming wedding. One of her photographers approached her with a roll of film in hand. She showed Katie that the roll contained a rock instead of film.
“Those came from that box,” she said, as she took out a recently bought box of Kodak Portra 400 film, purchased from Amazon. “If this whole thing is rocks, I am going to lose my mind.”

Katie opened another roll and, to her shock, found a rock instead of film. She and the other photographer laughed, most likely in awe at the realization. Katie began taking pictures for evidence and kept finding rocks inside the film rolls.
“My flabbers are gasted,” the North Carolina photographer added. “All I can do is laugh.”
Thankfully for the newlyweds, Katie had extra film in stock, as well as digital cameras, which she often uses. In a follow-up clip, Katie detailed that she ended up returning the film rolls. She also contacted Amazon customer service and explained the situation. The agent told her that she wouldn’t face any issues regarding her refund.

The initial clip sparked multiple responses, mainly from viewers who expressed their disdain for whoever was responsible. One said, “You won’t be able to return. That’s the scam.” Another one commented, “I absolutely despise scammers.”
Other viewers aimed their criticism at Amazon, with one writing, “They allow scammers to sell on their website.” Finally, some users saw Katie’s rock situation as a nightmare come true. One said, “I’m so glad you had extra because this is my literal nightmare the night before a wedding.”
Katie believes that the seller was not in the wrong. Most likely, she explained, a previous buyer put the rocks inside the rolls and returned the product without anyone noticing.
