A Nevada woman shares a terrible experience she had at an Ulta Beauty salon after a stylist allegedly refused to give her a hair consultation she had booked in advance. The woman even cried, saying that she just wanted to get professional advice about taking care of her hair but instead felt that she was being treated horribly.
The story was shared by a woman named Shari Elisa on her TikTok account, inshariwetrust. It got quite a bit of attention, earning several hundred thousand views from many upset viewers.
The Nevada woman said that the stylist was initially open to discussing her hair but quickly became frustrated when the stylist said that she didn’t do braids and recommended that she get a trim and stop using box dye. The woman explained that she was there for a consultation rather than a service. The stylist then said that she didn’t do consultations and was fully booked.
The woman reported that the stylist allegedly appeared to grow more impatient, rolling her eyes. After the stylist left, the Nevada woman went to talk to the store manager, who offered her a chance to talk with another stylist, which the woman rejected. The woman criticized the stylist for her lack of patience and for treating her as if she was wasting her time.
Nevada Woman’s Story Divides Salon Customers
In the comment section, people were mostly siding with the woman, with many users saying that the Ulta stylist had been very unprofessional and rude. Others simply recommended that she report the stylist. “Yeah just report the stylist to corporate because you shouldn’t have been able to book a consultation if she doesn’t take them,” one user wrote.
Others sided with the stylist, with some arguing that Ulta stylists were often overbooked and that it wasn’t as if they had the option to pick and choose who they were assigned to. One commenter remarked that the consultations Ulta offered were for services they provided, not for getting free advice.
“So I think you’re looking for a hair analysis/evaluation vs a consultation. Consultations are before a certain service like dye, extensions, etc. just so they can learn your hair before that service. Specialists are out there for you to sit down and actually talk about the health of your hair,” one user added.
Regardless of who was in the wrong, there was no denying that the Nevada woman left the Ulta salon extremely upset. The woman did say that she had reported the stylist, but Ulta has yet to respond.
