Why did they even try?

A Georgia woman was doing some shopping inside a store when she heard them announce her license plate over the loudspeaker. Concerned, she decided to run outside and check on her vehicle. What she found left her baffled and upset, and it all involved a U-Haul driver’s very expensive mistake.

Posted by TikTok user Valisa (TikTok/Valisaamor), she had been enjoying a trip to her local Target, only to get wrapped up in a horror story. When her car’s make, model, and license plate were announced on the intercom, she knew something was wrong. After all, her car was safely parked outside.

POV: I went shopping, and somehow my parked car ended up in an accident. 😭🚚 Y’all… that walk outside after hearing your license plate over the store speaker is something I hope nobody ever has to experience. Storytime? 👀 SStorytimePPOVCCarAccidentUUHaulParkedCar

Instead what she found was a large overhead clearance bar had crushed the front end of her car. The culprit was a U-Haul truck driver, who had unfortunately missed the mark, plowing over the entire clearance bar and the supporting brick foundation with it.

Valisa had shared that, despite hearing her car’s license plate over the loudspeaker, she walked out really hoping nothing was seriously wrong. She shows the accident from all angles, including the clearance bar resting on the hood of the U-Haul’s cab and its now smashed windshield.

Valisa did try to make light of the situation, joking that the clearance bar said, “Tag, you’re it.” No word on if the driver had been injured. They were not in the U-Haul truck when Valisa took video of her car at different angles.

The reaction to Valisa’s unfortunate car accident at Target

Viewers flocked to the comment section of Valisa’s TikTok video, offering their condolences but also congratulating her. Many argued the accident would easily win her a settlement. “Well congratulations on your new car,” one top comment reads, to thousands of Likes.

Another commenter spoke as if she may have known Valisa and was involved as well. “They didn’t need to call you over the loudspeaker. I was in the car and could’ve just called you,” they wrote.

One commenter asked the important question: “Why is there a clearance bar in the middle of a wide open parking lot?” This started a thread, suggesting there was a parking deck below and this clearance bar stands as a warning.

Valisa says about her entire experience, “Y’all… that walk outside after hearing your license plate over the store speaker is something I hope nobody ever has to experience.” She promises a story time detailing exactly what happened for her audience, but as of yet, there have been no updates.
