This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

In ARK: Survival Evolved, there are several different skills that all have unique benefits to the player, which in turn can help them survive in the game. That said, one skill that can help the player to survive in the environment around them is the ARK: Survival Evolved Fortitude skill. In this guide, we will explain how it will do just that.

ARK: Survival Evolved Fortitude Skill

What is the ARK: Survival Evolved Fortitude skill, and what does it do?

The ARK: Survival Evolved Fortitude skill is a measurement of the player’s total resistance to various environmental hazards such as Disease, Torpidity, and Weather. Furthermore, the more points a player puts into the Fortitude skill, the further it will increase the player’s natural Hypothermic and Hyperthermic insulation resistance.

It will also lessen the effects of both Hypothermia and Hyperthermia status effects, thus making the player able to survive longer when either effect is on their character. The skill will also make it so the player can resist being knocked out by Tranquilizer Arrows, Slingshots, and other attacks that inflict Torpidity on to the player.

Besides that, every time the player puts a point into Fortitude it will increase the skill by 2, which in turn will increase Hypothermic and Hyperthermic insulation by 4.5. Each point will also increase the player’s total knockout threshold by 1.

Despite all this, Fortitude is a skill that the player should not put a lot of points into as there are various items and armors in the game that players can utilize to get the same effects. However, this will often depend on the type of server and the settings present. If the player is playing on official servers, we recommend putting 25 points combined with insulating armor such as fur armor.

Various food dishes can also be used to gain a temporary buff to both Hypothermic and Hyperthermic status effects. If those aren’t available, the player can use structures in ARK: Survival Evolved to resist both of the effects as well because while inside a building the player’s resistance to both effects is increased.

In the end, players should also keep in mind that they will never be able to completely resist both effects without putting a ridiculous amount of points into the Fortitude skill. Due to this, it would be in their best interest to only put a small amount into the skill and mitigate the rest through the use of items like food dishes and armor.

We hope this guide cleared up any questions you had regarding the ARK: Survival Evolved Fortitude skill. Please give us any feedback you may have regarding our guide in the comments below. Good luck and watch out for Raptors!
