If you are out of ammo and the enemy is getting closer, you can always use a melee weapon. That’s why we’re going to tell you about the best Remnant 2 melee weapons and how to get them. There are 35 different options available in the game, both special and regular types. Special weapons differ from regular ones by the fact that instead of an empty modification slot, they already have a specific mod. So let’s see which ones we recommend to choose!
Godsplitter
Perhaps the base damage of 38 points may not be high enough, but its main advantage is different. This weapon has the Fracture mod, with which you can deal much more damage to enemies.
It counts all your Godsplitter attacks on the enemy as weakness attacks. The basic duration of this effect is 2 seconds, but with the help of the necessary fragments, it can be increased to 35 seconds. These are really great numbers, because with such a weapon you can easily deal huge damage to bosses and elite enemies, or opponents with hidden weak points.
To get Godsplitter in Remnant 2, follow the next steps:
- Go to Losomnn to defeat Faerin in Malefic Palace.
- After defeating the enemy, you will receive a Medled Hilt with which you need to go to McCabe.
- When you come to McCabe, you will be able to craft weapons from such materials:
- Melded Hilt x1
- Lumenite Crystal x7
- Scrap x650
Hero’s Sword
An extremely good weapon that will be a great alternative for you when you run out of ammo. All because of the Energy Wave mod, which will allow you to hit enemies even if they are far away from you.
While fighting in close combat, you can be twice effective by shooting energy projectiles at enemies farther away from you. To use this attack, you will need to spend 35 stamina, but the result is worth it. The basic attack of the sword is 51, but by upgrading it to the maximum, you can hit enemies 3 times stronger
To get Hero’s Sword in Remnant 2, you will need to meet the following conditions:
- Get it as a starter weapon for the Explorer class.
- Complete the campaign on Nightmare difficulty to be able to buy this weapon from Brabus.
Gas Giant
Next up is a decent option for players who like heavy weapons. In addition to the basic attack that deals 74 damage, this weapon also constantly emits toxic gas when you deal damage and also causes corroded status for 5 seconds if you have used infused basic attacks.
This weapon also has a good modifier Dying Breath, which will be useful for fighting against groups of enemies. This modification will allow you to release a cloud of acid gas with a radius of 3 meters, in which enemies will take damage while you finish them off.
The method of obtaining this weapon is quite interesting:
- Visit N’erud and find Tal’rotha there.
- Allow it to eat you so that you can enter the metaphysical dimension, where you can fight a stronger variation of the Tal’rotha.
- After defeating it, you will receive the Acidic Jawbone, an item you need to craft a weapon.
- Visit McCabe to craft a weapon from the following materials:
- Acidic Jawbone
- Lumenite Crystal x7
- Scrap x1000
Stonebreaker
The Stonebreaker is considered one of the most powerful melee weapons, with a base attack of 103 damage. At the last level of upgrade, the damage will go up to 309, which will make you incredibly powerful, not even taking into account the additional modification of this weapon.
The Faultline mod uses 35 stamina to activate and generates ground-based shockwaves that deal 115 damage. In addition to basic attacks, damage from the mod will give you a huge advantage in combat.
Here’s how to get Stonebreaker in Remnant 2:
- Visit Yaesha and find Corrupter at The Greal Bole.
- Defeat the Corrupter without killing the Guardian to get the Hollow Heart.
- Visit McCabe to craft a weapon from the following materials:
- Hollow Heart
- Lumenite Crystal x7
- Scrap x650
Atom Splitter
Atom Splitter is among the best and most powerful melee weapons in Remnant 2 and is endowed with a powerful modifier that will allow you to deal devastating damage. The base damage of the sword is 100, which is already a great advantage, but that’s not all.
With the Fission Strike mod, you will deal 150 damage within a 20-meter radius every time the weapon reaches Nuclear fission, which you charge after neutral evade attacks. In addition, charged neutral evade attacks increase damage by 25% and range by up to 3 times. This weapon is perfect for any fight, whether it’s a crowd of enemies or a boss.
Here are the instructions on how to get this weapon:
- Go to N’erud to visit the Vault of Formless.
- Find the place with broken mechanical parts and catwalks and interact with the mechanical arm to lift the platform.
- When the platform is raised, jump onto the catwalk.
- Now, follow the path to find the weapon, but remember that the game is built on RNG and you may need several tries before the Atom Splitter appears there.
That’s it with our list of the best melee weapons in Remnant 2! Now you know everything about the most effective weapons for close combat and won’t face any difficulties getting them.
