Beyoncé has warned her mother, Mama Tina Knowles, not to “spill too much Mama Tea” in her new memoir. The book, titled Matriarch, will hit the shelves in April 2025. According to a press release, Tina’s published work details her life as a young girl all the way to the present day. “[It’s] a glorious chronicle of a life like none other—enlightening, entertaining, surprising, empowering—and a testament to the world-changing power of Black motherhood.”
In addition to Beyoncé, Tina is the mother of singer and actress Solange. She also calls Bey’s bestie, Kelly Rowland, her “bonus daughter.”
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 32x Grammy Award-winning singer gave her mother a shout-out and praised her for working hard. “Mama, I couldn’t be prouder,” she wrote. “My love for you goes beyond what I can say.” She continued, explaining Tina put her “heart” into the book. As she finished, she begged her not to “spill too much Mama Tea.”
Does Queen Bey Have Anything To Be Worried About With Her Mom’s New Book?
Since Beyoncé’s debut in the ’90s, she’s always been a private celebrity, so her warning to her mother about her memoir makes sense for the star. In fact, after the singer’s post went live on Instagram, fans jumped into the comments to laugh at her statement. “Please don’t spill too much,” one user wrote, followed by laughing emojis. “Now, Giselle, you know damn well…”
Another user joked about Beyoncé’s record-breaking concert film, RENAISSANCE, which is still not available for streaming. “I hope she spills about where the visuals or RWT film are at,” they posted. A third fan encouraged Mama Tina to “spill as much tea” as she’d like, saying the book would become an “instant bestseller.”
Bey’s joke about revealing too many family secrets comes days after the singer’s powerhouse attorney slammed Piers Morgan for allowing “false” and baseless rumors about her to be aired on his show, Uncensored.
“There’s rumors, and then there’s nonsense,” Alex Spiro said. He, of course, was referring to the ludicrous claims Beyoncé is involved in Diddy’s egregious criminal case. “And this is one step further.”
There’s no doubt that BeyHive members will buy Mama Tina’s memoir to read about the secrets fans don’t know yet. And if piping hot tea is spilled, you know we’ll be talking about it.
