Blake Lively was full-on embracing method dressing as she slipped into a skimpy floral minidress while promoting her It Ends With Us movie in June, but her appearance in Texas raised eyebrows. Showing off her sensational figure in a thigh-skimming minidress with flower prints, the 37-year-old dazzled with her toned legs on display, but for some, a little too much was on show.
As users reacted to photos of Blake shared by The Daily Mail, the most-liked comments deemed the actress’ dress “too short,” with the sentiment manifested by multiple users. Blake’s decision to go down the floral route was carefully calculated — her on-screen Lily Bloom character is a florist.
Blake Lively Goes Floral In Minidress For New Movie
Attending her movie’s Book Bonanza event, Blake modeled a leggy black minidress adorned with colorful floral prints.
Choosing a blazer-style dress with glittery green trim and pops of pink, the Gossip Girl star looked elegant in her eveningwear look, one also boasting see-through fabrics at the sleeves. Adding dark black stitching here, Blake drew the eye to a bandeau bra worn beneath, rocking her blazer dress a little open.
Teaming her dress with a barely-there pair of heeled sandals, Blake was photographed holding a mic, also backed by a faux-greenery wall panel and couch seating.
Told Dress ‘Too Short’ And ‘Too Tight’
Fans weren’t very forgiving. “That dress is entirely too short, a little bit longer and it would be stunning,” one said, gaining over 170 upvotes.
Meanwhile, another user said: “A wee bit too short….,” using the Britishism for “little.” Over 80 fans agreed when a separate fan echoed the sentiment, writing: “Too much, too tight, too trashy.”
Noting the unbuttoned finish, a further user responded: “I think she forgot to do her dress buttons up …. Would have looked so much nicer if she did!“
Blake went on to make June, July, and August headlines for modeling an array of floral-inspired looks as she promoted It Ends With Us, released on August 9. Speaking of her Lily Bloom character, the wife to Ryan Reynolds revealed:
“I just fell in love with Lily. I wanted to tell her story because her emotional roadmap was clear to me, yet there are so many ways she could be portrayed. I knew if I took her on, I would make sure she wasn’t a delicate flower, but a woman with both feet firmly on the ground.”
Blake’s summer has also been busy with the launch of her Blake Brown haircare brand. The mom of four is already founder of her non-alcoholic Betty Buzz drinks brand.
