Kim Kardashian‘s latest photos of her daughter North West from her performance in The Lion King musical is raising brows. North made her musical debut at The Lion King’s 30th anniversary concert, where she snagged the role of Simba. Taking to the stage at The Hollywood Bowl, the youngster thrilled her audience with the infamous track, I Just Can’t Wait to be King, backed by a handful of famous celebrities in their fluffy characters.
Cheering the loudest were North’s parents, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who couldn’t be prouder. While the 10-year-old received resounding applause from the crowd, netizens believed her undeserving, suggesting she only snagged the role because of her parent’s influence rather than sheer talent.
North West Poses With Lion King Favorites in Backstage Photos
Amid the backlash, Kim Kardashian, who attended the concert to witness her oldest daughter North West’s acting debut, utilized social media to show just how proud she was of the starlet. Via Instagram stories, The Kardashians star shared a handful of photos from behind the scenes of the stage performance, capturing some of her daughter’s memorable moments.
The snaps showed the 10-year-old posing with some famous faces backstage including Jennifer Hudson, who starred in the musical. Kim Kardashian also shared snaps of North West on stage performing the infamous track from The Lion King.
North West received a couple of plush toys depicting some favorite characters in The Lion King, which Kim Kardashian shared on her Instagram stories. Aside from Jennifer Hudson, other stars who made appearances alongside Noth include Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner and Jeremy Irons who voiced Scar in the original Lion King which aired in 1994.
Despite the impressive cast bringing the concert to life, netizens find the concert less than impressive. Many have called out Kim Kardashian for supposedly buying her daughter a slot on the Lion King cast list, making North West the latest beneficiary of the nepo baby privileges. The Kardashians star all but proved it with the backstage photos of her daughter, which showed her excited as she fraternized with A-listers and some original cast of The Lion King, which is any kids’ dreams come true. For some though, all it takes to make it happen is a super-rich, influential mom.
