Streamers and influencers are often magnets for controversies these days, and even those with relatively smaller followings are not exempt. Case in point: an influencer from California who recently went viral for wanting to buy some chicken tacos from a closed taco shop. When the workers and management didn’t budge, the influencer offered money and even resorted to the fame card, which drew widespread criticism online.

Summayah couldn’t believe a taco shop refused to serve her after she said she was famous.

“Y’all closed? I got some money for you, I’m famous, you can’t do me like that, just make me a taco, and I’ll give you a $100, you don’t want a hundred dollars? That’s crazy, you gonna do… pic.twitter.com/n0hlinVXxR

Summyah, aka Summyah Marie from Los Angeles, California, is the woman in question, and over the weekend, she and friends went to La Birria taco shop. Sadly, they went there during closing time, and in the video, you can even see the restaurant workers serving their last customers outside the building. Then Summyah Marie decided to buy some chicken tacos, despite knowing La Birria was closed.

“Ya’ll closed? I got some money for you,” responds Summyah after being notified by the worker. She then tried to insist, saying, “I’m famous, you can’t do me like that… just make me a taco, and I’ll give you a $100. You don’t want a hundred dollars? That’s crazy. You gonna do that in front of 20,000 people?” It’s not clear whether Summyah was referring to her overall subscriber count or her current viewer count during that particular livestream.

However, many viewers took Summyah’s 20,000-fan brag as an entitled attempt to gain special treatment. La Birra, however, was adamant that it’s closed, so Summyah and her friends just decided to go to McDonald’s, but while leaving, she cursed the taco restaurant during the livestream. “Hey La Birria, [expletive] you!” shouts Summyah while leaving.

People online were angry at the influencer

Sure enough, an avalanche of critics poured their hearts out in the comment section and dragged Summyah. One of them even raised their eyebrows at Summyah’s bragging about her 20,000 fans. “20 thousand? Girls that nothing to brag. That man’s girl stood right up and said nope closed by famous person lmaooooooooooo who made these little girls think their important?” one commenter laughs at the influencer.

Another was a little too angry at Summyah for her entitled behavior, though to be fair, the influencer seemed a bit hangry or just hungry at the time. “That was disgusting behavior. Who tf does this lil [expletive] think she is?” rants another commenter, while another points out “they’re closed whether you’re famous or not.”

La Birria, meanwhile, gained some sympathy from online commenters and seems to be on the side of the restaurant. “This streamers are so dissociated from reality, they really be expecting people to react in awe of them being famous. I bet bro had a long day at the shop he doesn’t gaf bout wether you famous or not,” points out one X user. For the record, the 19-year-old Summyah was in a bit of a spotlight last year for rejecting Floyd Mayweather’s advances, mainly because she had a rapper boyfriend at the time.
