Colorado Man Outraged After DoorDash Driver Blocks His Front Door with Delivery: ‘The Delivery Person 100% Knew’

A special kind of sinister

A DoorDash driver in Denver, Colorado, delivered a meal, but allegedly didn’t want the customer to receive it. According to Body_Pillow_Bride’s post on r/doordash, the driver did this by placing his Taco Bell order’s drink right in front of his door. As anyone looking at the post’s photos could see, OP was guaranteed to knock over his drink if he were to open the front door to get his food. This seemingly intentional dilemma left Body_Pillow_Bride quite frustrated.

No it’s cool, I didn’t need to open my door anyway.

“Not like I have to WALK AROUND THE BLOCK THROUGH THE ALLEY TO GET IT NOW!” Body_Pillow_Bride exclaimed sarcastically, implying he’d have to go another way out to retrieve the meal and drink blocking his front door. Someone asked whether he left a tip or not for the DoorDash driver, to which OP responded, “16$ order, 2.4 miles, $3 tip, suburbs of Denver. AITA?”

Besides repeating that he had indeed tipped his driver, Body_Pillow_Bride didn’t add too much additional context in his post’s comments. “There’s a full-size table, a bench and 2 chairs on the porch,” he explained in response to someone asking whether there were other spots by the entrance to place the order. However, there were plenty of commenters who were convinced that the customer was the one in the wrong for doing something that irked the DoorDasher.

Reddit Was Certain the Colorado DoorDash Driver Had Sabotaged the Customer’s Taco Bell Order

On the other hand, there were plenty more Redditors who believed the DoorDash driver was simply being malicious towards the customer, despite having been given a tip. “The delivery person 100% knew they were blocking the door and hoping the drink would fall,” wrote a commenter.

“This is non-tip worthy,” remarked another. “Food on the ground and the drink on the step was an active choice,” confirmed a third. “They expect you to exit through the window,” pointed out a fourth.

Some people suggested that DoorDash didn’t train the driver properly, so the driver perhaps didn’t know that placing deliveries directly in front of the door is unacceptable. Still, many believed that theory to be obviously not the case since the drink was so carefully positioned to block the outward-swinging front door.

In the end, regardless of whether the DoorDash driver intentionally placed this order as they did, the Colorado customer was still left with the very inconvenient requirement of retrieving his food through unconventional means.
